FACS Students 4th Quarter

We have finished with out first three units. 8th graders if you have not paid for your Haan Craft sewing kit do so ASAP.  This payment is like a missing textbook and you will not receive your yearbook or reportcard without this payment.  6th graders have finished one unit of cooking essentials and will be selecting another challenging recipe for Unit # five.  7th graders have completed their aprons and are ready to get into the kitchen!  7th and 8th graders will also be using their creativity in cake decorating for our next unit. I can't believe only 20 more days of school.  Our Show Off Buffet will be on Tuesday, May 20th.  It is worth 40 bonus points plus it's lots of fun to see what your fellow students can make in their own kitchens.  It has been a wonderful year for our FACS program.  Thanks again for your contribution to Must Ministry.  We will also have a FACS bake sale during the Art Show on May 13th.  We'll be serving some of your favorites and will have cookbooks available for purchase.  See you there.

The end of the quarter is here.  6th grade had a great turnout  for our Show Off Buffet.  I am glad to see so many students able to use their cooking skills at home.  7th and 8th graders will have their Home Project: Show Off Buffet on Friday, Mar. 14th.  It is worth 40 bonus points and should be a lot of fun for our last day.  The forth quarter begins on Monday, Mar 17th. We are all looking forward to a beautiful spring.  Happy Spring Holiday to everyone.

7 th and 8th Grade FACS students

We are completing Unit # 4 and are looking forward to Unit # 5 which is Cake Decorating ( great fun for all). I am a little concerned about Unit # 7 which is a 9 week project including 6 Choices Magazine articles, 10 recipes and 4 FACS software worksheets.  This assignment was given the first day of class and the materials are located in your booklet.  This unit will be due March 12th.  It is worth 100 points and will affect your grade if it is not completed.  We are also looking forward to the SHOW OFF BUFFET on Mar 13th or 14th. Keep on working hard the next three weeks.

I have 20 more bags ready for this month.  A big thank you to Mrs. Barnes who has taken our donations to Must on a regular basis. Valentines Day is coming, maybe a small craft project would be a good gift? I have some ideas and you can check the Internet for lots of ideas. NUTRITION TIP: Even though its cold outside drinking 8 glasses of water everyday is just as important!
