All FACS students

My blog has had technical difficulties for the past four weeks.  I can now get messanges to the FACS students.  We have completed Unit # 4 and the grades are posted.  Unit # 5 is due today Monday May 11th .  We will also have a very fast cooking unit #6. We will begin Unit # 6 on Tuesday May 12th and it will be Due Monday May 18th.  We also have a lot of great activities planned for the end of the year. TUESDAY MAY 19th will be the FACS SHOW OFF BUFFET.   This is an opportunity to show your skills in your own kitchen and make a recipe to share with the class.  Besides being fun, the home project is worth 40 bonus points. Look for Unit # 5 and #6 on I que and you will know your grade. The 40 bonus points may be important to you. We will also have 8th grade field day May 15th, the Chorus Talent Show on Wednesday May 20th and  Yearbook day on the last day of school. So many things to do and so little time.

All classes have completed Unit # 3. The projects were very special and all the students worked very hard.  8th grade and 6th grade have taken their projects home and 7th grade have stored their aprons away to be used for their cooking projects.  Unit # 4 has begun.  We are going over cooking fundamentals including going to the supermarket, reading a recipe, correct measuring, proper equipment and planning each teams recipe to be made in class.  Unit # 4 will be due Nov. 18th. Unit # 4 will also include kitchen safety, cooking methods, favorite foods and MyPyramid.com.  We are moving very quickly thru our FACS program and all looking forward to Thanksgiving break.  I hope all of the FACS students enjoy using more knowledge in the kitchen over the holiday.
