--Turn in Your Luminary Orders to Support Dickerson's Relay for Life

--Reading--Vocabulary Test Wednesday

--Social Studies--Test Chapter 11 Thursday; We will review in class on Wednesday.

--Field Day--Friday

--All students have been given a sheet with login information for either my reading or social studies class so they can take practice CRCT assessments on-line.  Students will be given bonus points for tests on which they earn a 75% or higher.  They do not need to bring in anything to show their scores; I can check them electronically.

We used a PowerPoint as a basis of a discussion on the Great Depression.  Attached is the PowerPoint and a set of one sentence summary stems for the chapter.  Students should complete the summary stems for section 1 and 2 only for homework.

If you missed class on Friday...

Reading--Work on your PowerPoint or biography.  This will be due on Wednesday, and there will no more class time to work on this assignment.  Remember, you must also turn in your research packet on Wednesday.

Social Studies--Section 1 of chapter 11 is about the roaring 20's--the good and the bad.  Use the PowerPoint below AND section 1 of chapter 11 to complete the attached worksheet.  Make sure the conclusions you make can be supported by facts.  Finish reading ALL of chapter 11.

Reading 3/17

17th--Current Event Summary Due on TUESDAY

18th--Study for Wordly Wise Test on WEDNESDAY

BASEBALL SEASON will soon be here!In class, we will begin working on a baseball WebQuest on Tuesday and will continue through the week.  Students may decide to research either research African-Americans in the Hall of Fame or women who played professional baseball.  They will have class time to complete their research, but they may need to finish their project at home.

Social Studies Reminders for Week of 3/17

On the 14th, students began a comparison of Booker T. Washington and W.E.B. DuBois.  After completing the graphic organizer, they should write a paragraph using proper grammar and punctuation comparing and contrasting their findings.  This will be due Tuesday (18th).

On Tuesday and Wednesday, students will have use the lap tops to do research on Atlanta based companies. 

There will be a quiz on Thursday on Chapter 10.
