iParent Explanation

I apologize for any confusion in iParent.  When grades are marked with a M, that doesn't mean that your child has a zero.  A M shows that I haven't entered the grade.  If an assignment is missing, I will enter a zero.  Hope this helps.

Social Studies Due Dates

Just a reminder that each student must turn in a book card or AR test to their social studies teacher by Thursday.  My social studies students can select which one they prefer doing.  These will count as a quiz grade.

WebQuest Due Dates--Students have had time to do research and begin work on these activities in class.  They may need to do some work at home to finish them.

Homework 1/28

Reading--We looked at a comic strip that was about vocabulary.  Students should finish creating their own comic strips for 5 of their vocabulary words in Wordly Wise 5.  Most students had time to start this in class.

Social Studies--Students should find an editorial cartoon/political cartoon in a newspaper or on line.  They have a sheet to complete to guide them in understand their cartoons.  We will discuss on Tuesday.

Students have worked on vocabulary on page 206 for two days in class.  Any that they have not completed at the end of class on Friday should be completed for homework.

Causes of the Civil War--SS

Wednesday we watched a video on the causes of the Civil War.  Students were to take notes that they are to use in writing at least one paragraph explaining the causes of the Civil War.  Due on Thursday.
