All Classes--You all had time to work on your contracts.  Remember, your contract must be completed by the end of class tomorrow!  This will be counted as a quiz grade and will be your last grade of the grading period.

Reminders:

--Don't forget to bring your $1.00 so your report card can be mailed to you.

--You may not ride home on a bus with a friend the last two days of school.  You should plan to ride your own bus home.

--Many of you started cleaning out your lockers.  Please continue to do so!  You don't want to have to carry lots of things home with you next week.  We will have a day where you must take everything home!

P2--A few more of you presented your life soundtracks.  Then based on a conversation we had earlier this week about whether you wanted to study poetry or mythology to finish up the year, I decided to give each person the choice.  You were able to choose between a poetry tic-tac-toe board and a mythology contract.  Remember, it is your responsibility to pace yourself and to use your time wisely!!

P4, P5, and P6--You continued to work on your version of the mythology contracts.  Don't forget to be studying the information on the crossword puzzle you were given yesterday!  This will cover most of what will be on your test.

P2--Test on Freak the Mighty; Started mini-unit on poetry that will run through next week.

 

P4, P5, & P6--Mythology Contract--Laptops were in the room so students could work on the research that goes along with the mythology unit and work on  creating a business card in Publisher for Hercules or Cupid.  I am enjoying the work that the students are doing with the mythology unit.  They are incorporating reading, writing, research, and creativity.

P2--More of you presented your life soundtracks.  Tomorrow, you will have a test on Freak the Mighty, so I hope you have finished the book.  We will finish presenting your life soundtracks in the next few days.

Below are some pictures of 4th period working on their contracts including their versions of Pandora's box.  They were required to practice technical reading to figure out how to make origami boxes.  They then brainstormed 20 evils found in today's world.

Important Information for End of the Year

--No bus notes will be approved for May 21 and May 22, so students will have to ride their buses home. 

--Don't forget to send in your $1.00 in the envelope given to your homeroom teacher, so you can receive your report card and other important information at the end of school.

--Summer reading lists are posted on the DMS website.

--Begin cleaning out your lockers TODAY!! 

P2--I enjoyed hearing the life soundtracks that were presented. More will present tomorrow and later into the week.  HW--If you have not finished Freak the Mighty, please do so before class on Wednesday.  You will have a test over the book on Wednesday.

P4--You were given a mythology contract to work on over the next two weeks.  You will have class time and should not have to work on it at home unless you waste time. You will have some deadlines for parts of the contract later this week and into next week. There will be a mythology test on Thursday, May 21!

P5 and P6--You continued working on your mythology contract.  I will begin giving you deadlines for portions of the contract later this week.  You will have a mythology test on Thursday, May 21.

If you want the report card at the end of the year mailed to you, you need to bring a dollar in the payment envelope given to you by your homeroom teacher.  If you do not turn this in, you will have to pick your report card up in person.

All media center books are due to the media center ASAP.  If you have lost them, check with Mrs. Inman about the cost to replace them.  You will not be issued a yearbook if you have missing books.

Anyone wanting to retake the vocabulary quiz from today may do so before school on MONDAY!

P2--You took your vocabulary quiz, read Freak the Mighty, and started our study of Greek mythology.  HW--Your life soundtrack is due Monday.  You had some time to work in class earlier this week and have had several weeks to work, so everyone should turn it in on time!
