Today we continued our discussion on Direct Variations. We practiced problems in class and completed two worksheets. There will be a quiz Friday on Direct Variations. No written homework.....

Today we discussed DIRECT PROPORTIONS. We looked at tables, graphs, and equations that represented the direct variations. We used the equation y=kx.

Study guide was sent home today. It lists the chapters and lessons that the test will cover. It also has all the worksheets that cover the material.

Today we continued with customary conversions. We did a practice worksheet 7-7___" little sheet "( if you were absent you can pick up the sheet on Wednesday) You should complete all 25 problems using proportions.
The test is on FebTest 25th for this unit. You need to start preparing for this test.
Today we learned how to convert Customary Units using PROPORTIONS.Homework: wb page 77 (1-20) Set up a proportion for all 20 Problems. Show all work in your spiral. There is an explanation in your book on Page 497 Example 2
Each problem starts with a measurement from the chart on page 496 written in a ratio. Then you finish the proportion with the information given in the problem. Most of the problems can be solved using the " shortcut" Good Luck!!!!!
Test Feb 25 Monday
Quizzes were returned today. We did class test corrections and I had an early morning session to go over the quiz. We discussed the Metric System. We measured to the nearest cm and mm.
