Assignments for Friday, November 30, 2007

We finished presentations today in class.  Two worksheets were done - both identifying powers of the three branches of the federal government.  Class 2 - complete the second worksheet for homework.  Class 3 - if you did not complete the Articles and Constitution comparison chart in class, please finish it at home.  We have been asked to tell parents that the report card scheduled to go out on January 11 will not be sent home then, instead it will go home during conference week.  Have a wonderful week-end!

We started our PowerPoint presentations today - and I am so impressed!  Lots of good information , presented in an organized manner and some technology skills that I wish I had!  Only homework tonight is a political cartoon that you need to interpret.  Have a fun afternoon - see you tomorrow!

In class today we worked on group PowerPoint presentations.  I saw some really super ones!  Remember that they need to be FINISHED tomorrow when you come to class with a copy for me.  You will need to turn in the organizer that you developed of how a bill becomes a law tomorrow.  Also, if you did not turn in your progress report today, please bring it in tomorrow signed. Assignements for Tuesday, November 27, 2007

I class today we took a brief 10 question quiz on the three branches of the federal government.  We then spent a short time completing the organizer of how a bill becomes a law - this needs to be completed by Friday!   After that we began work on the PowerPoint presentation of the three branches.  Remember that this is to be ready to present at the beginning of class on Thursday!

Assignments for Monday, November 26, 2007

Today in class we had a vocab quiz on the Constitution vocabulary.  After finishing the quiz, the class was to read pages 520 to 523 in the text with particular attention to Figure 58.   We then read a short explanation of how a bill becomes a law and then developed an organizer to show the process.  Homework is a worksheet on our government and the organizer on the back of that reading.  At the beginning of class tomorrow there will be a short (10 questions) quiz on the three branches of the federal government.  This is covered on pages 510 to 523 in your text.  Have a nice afternoon!

In class today we completed our second lesson on cyberbullying.  Remember that the vocab on page 502 of your Ga. History book is due on Monday and you should have read pages 510-519.  I hope that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Assignments for Monday 19, 2007

In class today we talked about cyber bullying and things that you should not do and what you should do if you feel that you are being bullied.  Homework was not assigned.  However, I did make an assignment last Friday that will be due on Monday, the 26th.  The vocab on page 502 is to be completed and you need to read pages 510 to 519.  I hope that you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Assignments for Friday, November 16, 2007

Today in class we went over last night's homework and discussed the strengths and weaknesses of the Georgia Constitution of 1777.  We also talked about Georgia's signers, Abraham Baldwin and William Few.  Home work due on Monday after Thanksgiving:  The 15 vocab words on page 502.  Also,  read pages 510-519.  I hope that you have a wonderful week-end.  See you Monday!

Today in class we went over the Articles chart and organizer.  After that classes began working on a worksheet that emphasized the strengths and weaknesses of the Ga. Constitution of 1777 and the reasons why the Articles had to be changed.  This is due tomorrow.  Have a fun afternoon!

We completed reports today.  We also discussed the Articles of Confederation in some classes.  We did not meet class 7 today because of a meeting with Walton counselors.  All classes (including class 7) complete the Articles side of the organizer using your article from last night and the organizer from Monday night.  Any areas you can't fill in we will do tomorrow.
