Georgia History Assignments for August 23, 2007

In classes 2,3,6,and 7 we had a quiz on last night's reading assignment.  We read an article on tornadoes in Georgia after the quiz was over.  I then passed out a What You Need To Know for the Quiz sheet.  Remember, one of the best ways to study for this quiz is to go over the reading material and review the assigned vocabulary.  Be sure that you know the geography terms.

Georgia History Assignments for August 22, 2007

Sorry that this is late - I was not able to connect with the Internet from my room today.  In class today we discussed last night's  HW assignment in groups and then came up with some consensus ideas about climate.  I gave some notes that included the facts that I had written on the board - mainly concerning Georgia's climate and why it is like it is.  Your HW for tonight is to re-read VERY carefully the climate section - pages 22-30.  For those of you who checked the board and know that there is a quiz on Friday, I will give out a study sheet in class tomorrow. Thank you for a really good day in class!

In class we discussed setting up notebooks - there is a sheet on this.  Working in groups we completed the textbook scavenger hunt and turned this in.  After that we talked about the concept of time and how the system of time zones that we have today came about.  Everyone then read an article on the history of time and answered eight questions.  This was homework for most people- it will be taken up at the beginning of class on Thursday.  Also, a review packet on geography was passed out - it is due on Friday.  Class 7 STILL does not have their texts - don't worry, please!  The class syllabus will be passed out tomorrow.  Have a wonderful afternoon!
