Well, today was the big day! You completed your first round of final exams by taking your LA final. Some of you must have quit a bit early, but others of you did very well. To explain a change, I want to tell you that I allowed you to drop the lowest score from your scantron in place of simply adding in the CRCT bonus(it worked in your favor). That's why you won't find the other score as a separate bonus. The coupons that you turned before the exam are entered. I hope you have a wonderful summer. I plan to avoid keeping large dogs this summer myself! Keep in touch. Ms. V

Today you turned in any bonus coupons you had not already used this year. Then we graded your exam study cards and reviewed the way each section of the final will test. Please use these next 7 days to study diligently for all your exams. We won't meet tomorrow since we have field day all day...please, no rain!

Today in class, we discussed some of your DIARY vocab and rationing. we reviewed the requirements for the coupons and study cards that are due tomorrow.

Today in class students turned in their vocab sentences as part of their preparation for the final exam. They were then allowed class time to work on the vocab terms/study cards. Those who did not bring materials to work were given the opportunity to read more about the WWII study. The accumulated bonus coupons and the cards are due on Thurs.

I hope you really enjoyed your time at the 8th grade party/dance Friday evening. Today in class, we began with a Miep Gies interview and then reviewed your character charts. Many of you did not complete the assignment....which could result in a weak effort on that section of the final exam. You picked up your record from the dance and then began to review. Your parent signature on the exam plan is due tomorrow along with the 29 vocab sentences. We have a busy last two weeks ahead. Also, don't forget to bring in your $1 to have your report card mailed; it will save your folks a trip later in the summer to pick it up here.

Today we watched a very special video on the life of Anne Frank...informative and touching. Then you received the materials for your final exam preparation. The following dates are critical to success:
Tues., 5/12: Exam plan signature & 29 Diary vocabulary sentences.
Thurs., 5/14: Color-coded exam vocabulary cards & remaining bonus coupons.
Mon., 5/18: Return Literature Books (You can study from vocab & character charts.)
Thurs., 5/21: Final Exam in the AM!

Today we read/listened to the rest of the DIARY play and learned what really happened to all our friends in the annex. Tomorrow we will see an important video about Anne & her family. You will also receive your info and plans for our final exam. THEN, we can think about our dance tomorrow night.

Today we had a very creative LA class as you designed and created your record/decoration for the 8th grade dance. Remember your WWII book report is due by Thurs. We will finish reading the play, hopefully, tomorrow.

Today we read/listened to Act 2:scene 1 and part of 2. You also turned in your 10 charts from Act 1. Tomorrow we will be creating the records for the 8th grade dance. Don't forget to create an idea for your decoration...and some markers/supplies/a picture to add to your design. We'll take a break from the play. Remember that your book report is due on Thurs.....if you did not turn in a WWII family story.
