ALP-LA - Today we took a quiz on the content in Part 1 "The Hearth and the Salamander". We reviewed Parts of the Sentence. HOMEWORK: Worksheet f/b on Parts of the Sentence. Quiz on Monday2/25. Written work for Part 2 " The Sieve and the Sand" due Thursday.
LA - Quiz today Parts of the Sentence. Grades are posted.( I gave those who failed the quiz workbook pages to do over the weekend - pages 59, 61, 65, 67, 69.) Test will be on Wednesday 2/27. HOMEWORK: DGP #9

ALP-LA - Today Part 1 Fahrenheit written work was due, and Word Study - Part 1 was given. Afterward, we discussed Part 1. Tomorrow: Content Quiz Part 1 All ALP-LA students need to be reviewing Parts of the Sentence because quizzes/tests are coming! PART 2 - "The Sieve and the Sand" written work due next Thursday 2/28 followed by Word Study Quiz for Part 2....... Part 3 "Burning Bright" written work due Thursday 3/6 followed by a Word Study Quiz Part 3.
All language arts students, both alp-la and la, who were absent yesterday 2/20 missed work in the e-lab with the 8th grade counselor, Mrs. Pearce. She is working on detailed instructions on how students who missed the work can make it up at home. She will have those instructions completed Monday 2/25. I will hand out the instructions for the activity on Monday. (It is a grade)

LA - Today we read to Progress Report 11(p.55) "Flowers for Algernon". Also, we began working on a study guide for the story.
HOMEWORK: Identify the parts of speech for each word in these sentences. Identify the part of the sentence of each underlined word. (s, pa, pn, io, do, op)
Burt timed the competition between Algernon and Charlie.
Charlie was the victim of his friends.

LA - Today we began reading "Flowers for Algernon", p.45 in the blue literature book. Read to Progress Report March 28.
HOMEWORK: Identify the parts of speech in all the words of the following sentences. Identify the parts of the sentence of the underlined words.(s, op, pn, pa, io, do)
Dr. Nemur gave Charlie an operation to improve his IQ.
Algernon raced Charlie in a series of mazes.

ALP-LA - Today we worked on DGP's 7 and 8. There will be a DGP Quiz after we complete #10. Also, today we began Fahrenheit 451. Finish reading to page 18. Write five questions you want answered tomorrow in class.
LA - Today we checked DGP #7 and #8. Quiz when we finish #10. HOMEWORK: Go through the DGP steps on the 2 sentences given on the board today.

ALP-LA and LA - REMEMBER Friday is "Hippie/Protest Day" in all my language arts classes! If you have a lava lamp, big pillows, please bring them on Thursday. Also, be planning what you are going to wear and the food you will bring on Friday.( REMEMBER OUR DISCUSSION!!!! )
