Today was the Chapter 14 Test.  Make-up:  Thursday, January 12th at 8:10 in my classroom.

Wednesday 12/21/11

We reviewed for tomorrow's Chapter 14 Test.  REMINDER:  There is the usual study session at 8:15 tomorrow morning. 

Tuesday 12/20/11

The Science Checkpoint was today.  See me for make-up.  Notebooks were checked today.  Be prepared for a very rigorous Chapter 14 review in class on Wednesday.  The Chapter 14 Test is on Thursday.  Section Reviews and Chapter Review are due on Wednesday.

Monday 12/19/11

The Chapter 14 flash cards were checked today.  The students completed the Chapter Directed Reading quiz.  Make-up:  Wednesday morning at 8:55 in my classroom.  The students worked on the Section Reviews for Sections 3 and 4, and the Chapter Review for Chapter 14.  Complete the back side of the vocabulary handout you were given on December 8th.  All work is due on Wednesday, December 21st.

Friday 12/16/11

We completed the Section 4 notes. We discussed pH using the attached handout.   We discussed the naming of ionic and covalent compounds using the 2 attached handouts.  Make flash cards over today's material.  Your Chapter 14 flash cards should now be complete.  Complete the Section 4 Directed Reading. 

REMINDERS:

1.  The Science checkpoint is on Tuesday the 20th.

2.  The Chapter 14 Test is on Thursday the 22nd.  There will be the usual review session the morning of the test.

Thursday 12/15/11

Complete the Section 3 Directed Reading.  Each student read Section 4 of Chapter 14 and we discussed the first half of the section.  Make flash cards.

Wednesday 12/14/11

Each student took a balancing equations check.  Make-up:  Friday morning at 8:50 in my classroom.  We created a concept map on chemical reactions and completed an activity where we balanced and classified chemical reactions (attached to today's blog).

Tuesday 12/13/11

Each student completed a balancing equations check.  Make-up:  Thursday morning at 8:50 in my classroom.  Read and discussed Chapter 14 Section 3.  Make flash cards.  Should now have completed 3 sections of flash cards.
