The Chapter 13 flash cards were checked today.  Chapter 13 Test was today.  Make-up:  Monday, December 5th at 8:10 AM in Ms. Roth's room.

Tuesday 11/29/11

The Directed Reading quiz was today.  Make-up:  Thursday morning at 8:50 in my classroom.  (REMINDER:  I have your packets that you use on the quiz.)  Each group presented their metallic bonding song.  We reviewed for tomorrow's Chapter 13 Test.  REMINDER:  Review session at 8:15 Wednesday morning.

WELCOME BACK!

Their assignment was to complete the song by creating a chorus about all types of bonding and a verse just about metallic bonds.  (Must be to the same tune.)  Their original creations will be sung on Tuesday as we continue our preparation for Wednesday's Chapter 13 Test.

 

Friday 11/18/11

We continued to reinforce the concepts from Chapter 13 by working practice problems.  The Chapter 13 Test is on November 30th.

Thursday 11/17/11

We discussed electron dot diagrams.  We completed the Chapter 13 concept map (attached) together as a class.  We also completed a covalent/ionic bonding practice sheet together as a class (can be picked up from the student file).  REMINDER:  You should be studying your flash cards/notes EVERY day for at least 10-15 minutes.  Chapter 13 Test is on November 30th.

Wednesday 11/16/11

Today was catch-up day.  We discussed the Chapter 13 notes, students asked questions, and we corrected some activity sheets.  Tomorrow we will discuss electron dot diagrams.  Use the videos attached to last night's blog to introduce yourself to these diagrams.

Complete the Chapter Review on p. 380-381 and the CRCT Review on p. 382-383 in your textbook.  Complete the Chemical Bonding Comparison handout.

Friday 11/11/11

The students compared their notes to the class notes.  Make flash cards.  Complete Section 3 Review in the textbook.  Complete the Section 3 Directed Reading.  Do the Chapter 13 Review in the textbook.

I am still unable to return to the classroom so I will not be there on Monday.  Thank you so much for all of your patience, cooperation, dedication and hard work.  We will talk thoroughly about Chapter 13 upon my return.   I hope to get back very soon so we can talk Chemistry all period long.  I know you will just love that!

The students compared their Section 2 notes to the class notes.  Make flash cards.  Complete the Section 2 Review in the textbook.  Complete the Section 2 Directed Reading (attached to last night's blog).  Read Section 3 and make comparison notes.

Unfortunately I am still not well enough to return to the classroom on Friday.  Keep up all of your hardwork and good behavior.  I hope to see you all on Monday.  Thanks Troops!
