We discussed the Earth's magnetic field. We began work on a 2 day lab about planetary magnetic fields. The lab will conclude on Friday. Make-up topic for today's part of the lab: Magnetometers Chapter 19 Test will be on February 7th.
The students worked on the Chapter 19 workbook pages. All questions and activities should be completed by Friday when the work is due. The Chapter 19 Test will be on February 7th.
The Chapter 19 vocabulary was turned in today. The students worked in lab groups plotting the magnetic field of a bar magnet. Make-up topic: Check out a bar magnet and compass from me in order to do the make-up. The Chapter 19 test will be on February 7th. Bring your book to class on Wednesday. Reminder: I am out of the classroom on Wednesday in order to attend a textbook committee meeting. No extra help will be available on Wednesday morning. Extra help will resume on Thursday morning.

I reviewed Section 3 with the students so they could check the notes they created as a homework assignment. The vocabulary for Chapter 19 was assigned. Complete it for homework.
We completed our discussion of Section 1 of Chapter 19. Make flash cards. Last nine weeks, I worked with you on being able to read a section and take your own notes. You are now going to do that on your own with Section 3. Read the section paragraph by paragraph, putting into your own words any new main ideas that you find in the reading. Use the same notes format that we have been using in class. Make flash cards. This work was begun in class. Any work not completed in class should, as always, be completed for homework.

The students turned in the Chapter Assessment for Chapter 14 today. I also checked the Chapter 14 Flash Cards today. Each student took the Chapter 14 Test today. The make-up will be on Tuesday, January 22nd at 8:20 in the Science classroom.
