6th Grade:  You got a new worksheet packet today.  Do side 1 and side 2 on Stem and Leaf plots.  It should be labelled 10-1 Study Guide and 10-1 Practice.  DO NOT DO THE REST OF THE PACKET. 

Tomorrow, you will be doing some work on mean, median, mode and range.  Bring your textbook to class.  You will also have some worksheets to do.  I will see you on Thursday.

 

Math 7/8:  Do WS 10-7 Practice (Odds) which is the back of the sheet from last night.  You should also have the new worksheet 10-9 and 10-10 to complete as well. 

Tomorrow, you will be reviewing probability to prepare for a quiz on Friday. See you on Thursday.

Math 6/7:  Last night you should have finished the worksheet packet on graphing.  I will be collecting it on Monday so if you need to do any "catching up", get it done this weekend.

Today, we reviewed for Monday's quiz by doing the following exercises in the textbook"

6-4:  p. 310/5, 6, 8, 9-12

6-5:  p. 316/ 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 13, 14

6-7:  p. 324/ 2, 3, 4, 7,8, 10, 11

You have had a good review in class today. If you did not finish this assignment, you need to finish it over the weekend.   Your worksheets will also provide a refresher on what will be covered on the quiz. You can spend a few minutes looking them over. You should not be studying all weekend!  If you did a good job on the assignment from the textbook, you studied for the quiz.  You study math by doing a little bit of practice on everything you covered...that's what this assignment does.

 

Math 7/8:  Text page 529/ 1-16  I will also be collecting Venn Challenge on Monday.

Homework tonight:  WS packet sides 7, 8, 9, and 10 on line graphs.  You should have made notations at the top of those pages in class today so you know exactly which pages to do.  The first is "HIbVE".

 

Math 7/8:  Quiz tomorrow on sets and venn diagrams.  Review your worksheets and the web sites posted on earlier blogs.

Reminder for Parents:  Open House for Grade 6 begins at 6pm tomorrow, Tuesday, Aug. 23

Reminder for moms and dads:  Open House on Tuesday at 6pm.

Math 6/7:  Hello everyone...whew...what a busy week we had but you all did a great job and I hope your first week back to school was a good one. All 6th graders, congratulations on getting through your first day with lockers today. Now that you have your textbooks, you know why you need that locker!  You do not need to bring your math textbook to class unless I tell you. It gets easier and faster with each day that goes by. My 4th period class, you did a terrific job in the lunchroom with excellent cleanup and cooperation. Thanks to Skylar and Charley for being table washers. We had our first fire drill...also a great job.  Just remember there's no talking at all during the entire drill. 

By the way, I've already inherited two nice pencil pouches chock full of new supplies!One is blue and one is black.  PUT YOUR NAME ON EVERYTHING!!!  A silver Sharpie works well to label items that are black.

Your homework is to do the worksheet on bar graphs.  It should not take you too long but don't forget about it.

Math 7/8: 7th graders, aren't you glad you are old hands at getting through all the beginning of the year business? Thank you for getting to class on time and getting ready to work. I've got the schedule straight now, no more late dismissals!

HW:  WS packet on venn diagrams:  do sides 1, 2, 3.  If you need to draw a venn diagram to solve a problem, put it in your spiral notebook. Write answers next to each question on the worksheet and also decode on the bottom.

We've already had a busy week.  Stay tuned for a variety of postings but for now...just the homework.

Math 6/7:  Get the syllabus signed

                 WS:  Frequency Tables.  Remember to use a ruler. Every column needs a heading and every table needs a title.

 

Math 7/8:  WS:  Sets.  Finish the back of the worksheet, focusing on set builder notation.
