We went over most of the questions in class, but here are the answers to the last few problems.

Exam Help Session

All Classes:

There will be a help session Tuesday morning at 8:15 to answer any last minute questions about the math exam.  Student have no homework tonight other than to study for the exam which is tomorrow afternoon. 

Math 8 Students need to study the questions on the exam review worksheet and study all their old tests from this year.

Accelerated Math 1 students need to study their quizes and tests from this year.

Exam Schedule

Math 8 -There is no homework this week.   Students are creating a review booklet that they may take with them to high school.  It has some important reminders that will help them as they begin Math 1 next year at Walton.  They will also have an open booklet test this Thursday which will cover the topics found in the booklets. 

Accelerated Math - There is a test on Thursday covering parts of Unit 1, 2, 3, and 4 in the Math 2 textbook.  The specifics are listed on the white board in my classroom.  We will be reviewing on Wednesday in preparation for this last test.  No homework this week except to study for the test and upcoming final exam.

Help Sessions are Tuesday and Thursday at 8:15.

Monday - May 18th - REVIEW DAY FOR ALL MATH CLASSES

Tuesday - May 19th - Social Studies (morning) and Math (afternoon)

Wednesday - May 20th - Science (morning) and Foreign Language/Reading (afternoon)

Thursday - May 21st - Language Arts (morning)

Friday - Students get their yearbooks. 

Accelerated: Week of May 4th (EOCT is on May 6th)

Dear Accelerated Math 1 students and parents,

This week the Accelerated Math 1 students will be taking the high school Math 1 End of Course Test (EOCT) on Wednesday, May 6th. 

The test will be taken online in computer lab E3.  It will take approximately 2 to 2.5 hours to complete which means the students will miss 1st and 2nd period that day and possibly part of 3rd period.  The students have been told that they are to check with their teachers and find out what assignments they need to complete due to being absent from those classes. 

On Monday, I will show the students a tutorial on the computer that will give them a preview of  Wednesday's EOCT.  We will also spend both Monday and Tuesday reviewing various topics that may be on the EOCT.  

It is important that all students be in class Monday through Wednesday, and that students be on time to school on Wednesday.  Students need to bring pencils and a few sheets of paper to the labs on Wednesday.

Math 8 : Week of May 4th

This week students will complete Chapter 14 (textbook sections 14.1 - 14.6) on Polynomials.  There will be an in class activity on Wednesday which will be taken for a grade and the TEST is on Friday, May 8th.   

Help Sessions on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8:15.

The 8th GRADE DANCE is this Friday, May 8th ( 7pm to 9pm) !!!

Flu Information

Parents and students:  Information regarding the swine flu from the CDC has been placed on our web site.  We are encouraging students to wash their hands and to carry individual sized hand sanitizes in purses, etc.   Our school always has soap, hot water and paper towels.  In addition, most of us have hand sanitizers on our desks for student use.  Please speak with your student at home about the importance of washing hands, covering mouths when sneezing, etc.

Math 8 : April 27 - May 1 (updated 4/29)

Progress Reports are due back on Friday along with any missing work marked "M" on the sheet.

This week students will continue working on Polynomials.  We will be going through lessons that can be found in the big textbook in Chapter 14 (sections 14.1 to 14.6). 

The next test will be on Friday, May 8th.

**Chorus students who will be gone on Friday need to look in their textbooks or online at section 14.5.  They also need to do Green Workbook page 107 which will be done in class while they are gone.
