Final information for 7th & 8th grade Honor Chorus
Congratulations! You all passed the second audition and now must attend the mandatory Monday evening rehearsal.
Monday, Nov. 7th after school rehearsal:
The rehearsal November 7th is at Palmer Middle School located at 690 North Booth Road; Kennesaw, GA 30144. 770-591-5020. (25 - 30 min. away)
*You will need to eat before arriving to the school by 5:45 pm - 6:10 p.m. and bring your Honor Chorus folder/music & a pencil.
*You may bring a water bottle only.
*Please be prompt as the rehearsal will begin on time (6:15 pm). You are expected to be at this rehearsal, no excuses.
*We will be rehearsing in the theater.
*Parents are expected to take their child to and from this rehearsal. Please be there to pick up your child by 8:00 p.m. They will be released at 8:15pm to go home with you.
*Your t-shirts will be given out at 8:15 p.m. Make sure that you get your shirt before leaving.
*If you bring your cell phone it must be turned off until the end of the rehearsal. Also, there is no gum during any of the rehearsals or performance on Tuesday evening.
All accompaniment tracks are on the wikki site that I gave you earlier. You should now practice your part alone by listening to only the accompaniment to make sure that you know all of your entrances prior to the evening rehearsal at Palmer MS.
Tuesday, November 8th (Teacher workday) your child needs to be at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, 955 Johnson Ferry Rd; Marietta, GA 30068 to check in at 8:15 a.m. The rehearsal will begin from 8:30 – 5 p.m. Wear your DMS Red or Navy t-shirt and nice long blue jeans to the day rehearsal. Lunch and a snack will be provided. Bring a sack lunch if you cannot eat pizza. At 4:45pm parents need to pick up your child to take him/her to dinner in the area. They will need to eat, change into their concert attire (DMS concert dress/tux shirt, black socks & shoes), and report back to the church by 6:45 - 7 pm to warm up. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. You will need to take your child home after the entire concert ends. Remember that the middle schools will sing a final number with the high school groups so you must stay the entire time. No leaving early as this has been stated since the first audition. We are so proud of each of you for representing DMS at this event.
Middle School Schedule for Tuesday, November 8th:
8:00 - 8:30 Check in and get started (Bring your music/folder; pencil and water bottle)
8:30 - 10:00 Rehearsal in choir room
10:00 - 10:15 Break (Keep the bathrooms clean)
10:15 - Noon : Rehearsal in Choir room
Noon - 12:30 pm: Lunch in fellowship hall (Please help keep the church facility clean.)
12:30 - 2:30 ; Rehearse in the sanctuary
2:30 - 3:00 Break/Snack/Move to Choir room (Please help keep the church facility & bathrooms clean.)
3:00 - 4:00 Rehearse in Choir room
4:00 - 4:15 Break/Move to Sanctuary (Keep the bathrooms clean)
4:15 - 5:00 Combined Rehearsal in the sanctuary
5:00 Dismissed for Dinner Break off Campus (or at home) Change into your formal concert attire.
*Tell us when you have found your parents. We will all meet in the back of the sanctuary to make sure that all of your parents have arrived to get you.
6:45 - 7:00 p.m. Check in and get in place for warm ups (Be in concert attire, no cell phone and don't be late!) (Set a desinated place to meet your parents when the concert ends.)
7:00 - 7:25 Warm up/ Line up in Choir Room
7:25 Line up outside of the Sanctuary ready to perform.
7:30 p.m. concert begins. You must stay for the entire concert. The final number will be a combined piece for MS & HS. This is a free concert.
8:30 p.m. When the concert ends make sure that you tell us that you have found your parents and have a ride home. We don't want anyone left at the church when it concludes.
