Helpful Resources:
- The online textbook http://my.hrw.com; Each student has a login and password.
- I highly recommend the eActivity tab
- Visual Concepts (right hand side) will help students review key concepts and vocabulary
- Sample Problems (Middle of left side) will walk students through typical math problems seen in this chapter (Note there are 2 tabs once you click on this: See how its done and then do it yourself.
- Virtual Investigation (lower left side) will have students do an online "lab" and review/practice math skills.
- I highly recommend the eActivity tab
- http://www.physicsclassroom.com/ This is a high school level physics tutorial. However we cover about 75-80% of the same material. The great thing is after reviewing a concept they have questions at the bottom of the page to check for understanding. And then you can check your answer!
- Click on The Physics Classroom Tutorials
- Then Click on 1-D Kinematics
-
- There are tutorials as well as multimedia videos (animations mostly)
- I recommend looking through the information on 1-D kinematics. http://www.physicsclassroom.com/Class/1DKin/
- Lesson 1 : Describing Motion with Words
- Lesson 2 : Describing Motion with Diagrams
- http://www.physicsclassroom.com/Class/1DKin/U1L2b.cfm
- You can skip the vector diagram review.
- Lesson 3 : Describing Motion with Position vs. Time Graphs (we called these distance vs time graphs in class)
- EVERYTHING HERE IS IMPORTANT
- Lesson 4 : Describing Motion with Velocity vs. Time Graphs
- You can skip letter e: determining area on a velocity vs. time graph.
