COMBINATIONS OF ATOMS
Atoms of elements combine chemically to form new substances called compounds
Molecules: atoms share the electrons in the outer-most portion of the electron cloud (level). This combined atom forms a molecule.
Example: H2O - water is a compound of molecules
Remember compounds are:
1. two or more elements
2. separated chemically
3. New substances are made
4. A type of matter that has properties different from the properties of each of the original elements in it.
