Today we reviewed osmosis and Ch 4.1. A 20 question guide was given out to help you outine your own notes on the section. See below.
CORRECTION!!!!! The blog before the holiday listed this weeks vocab quiz as Thursday, Nov 12th. That date is obviously incorrect. It should say Thursday, December 1st.
Today we continued our definitions for Ch 4. Our calandar of events are as follows:
Wed. 11/16: Talk about Ch 3.1 on Early Scientst in Cell Theory and Cell Theory. This goes along with last Friday's Direct Reading and the 5 questions answered and turned in yesterday.
Today, 11/17: Work on definitions and illustrations . (words are; diffusion, osmosis, passive transport, active transport, endocytosis, exocytosis, photosythesis, cellular respiration, fermintation, cell cycle, chromosomes, homologous chromosomes, mitosis, cytokinesis. Words are to be defined and illustrated in color. Due 11/18. Vocab Quiz on these words will be November Thursday 12/!.
Friday, 11/18: Vocab is due. Discusss Ch 4.1 on diffusion and osmosis.
11/21-11/25 Thanksgiving Holiday
When we return, we will discuss cell respiration, photosynthesis, and mitosis. Test on Chapter will be 12/5/11.
Today we took a test over Chapter 3 Cells. We also turned in our review from last Friday (11/11) and the Organelle Chart we started at the begining of the Cahpter.
We will continue our microscope lab tomorrow so please bring your lab sheet.
After today's test, we answered a few questions about cell theory and scientist who worked on cell identification. These questions are due tomorrow and listed below.
1. What are the three parts of the cell theory?
2. Who are the following scientist and what did they do? : Robert Hooke, Leeuwenhoek, Schleiden, Virchow, and Schwann.
3. What are protists?
4. What are the three types of archaea bacteria?
5. What does DNA stand for and what is it?
This time last week we were getting ready for the Halloween Weekend. Hope everyone had a "ghoulishly" good time!!
We are working on the Cell Analagy project. We have been working on it the past 3 days. It is due by Wednesday, 11/9. Also makeup Biome Book Labs were given out to those who needed them. They are due by 11/11.
We wil continue with Chapter 3 next week. A test over Chapter 3 will be Monday, 11/14.
