Its the Blooming Weekend!!!

Wow!! Finally the weekend!!!

Yesterday we turned in our Plant Books and took an open book quiz over the material. These quiz grades have been posted. The Plant Books will take a little longer to grade, but Mrs Scarborough and I will get that donae as quickly as we can. We also took a re-vocab quiz today for those that wanted to better their score from earlier in the week. You could make as high as a "90" on the quiz and I took the better of the two scores. Thosse have also been posted.

Today we started Chapter 13. We had an introduction and vocabulary was worked on. Words must be defined and color illustrated. Words are: photosynthesis, chlorophyll, cellular respiration, stoma, transpiration, dormant, tropism, grana, gravitropism, germination. This assignment is to be turned in next Friday (5/6) when we will have a vocabulary quiz on the terms.

Also, remember we will be doing a flower dissection lab Wednesday, 5/4, You can work with a partner or by yourself. Please bring one flower in per lab group.  And DO NOT PICK FLOWERS FROM THE DMS CAMPUS!!!!

Progress Reports go out Tuesday, 5/3.

A reminder that your plant books are due Thursday!!

NO LATE BOOKS !!!!! MUST BE TURNED IN BY THURSDAY ONLY!!!!

We will have an open plant book quiz Thursday before turning in our books. The quiz will check information from your plant books.

Ch 12 quizes were handed back today. If you did not do as well as you liked, you may take a re-quiz Friday at the beginning of your class. You can only make as high as an 90. I will take the higher of the two quiz grades. So.... study this time around!

Plant Books

Yesterday we started our in class project for Chapter 12 - A Plant Reference Book. We will work on it for  the rest of the week in class. and probably carry it into next week. I will assign a due date later as I check our progress. However, most of the book, if not all of it, should be done in class.

Testing is Over!!

CRCT testing is finally over!!

We started Ch 12. today on Plants. We will be completing a plant reference book for this section.

Today's assignment is to define and illustrate [does not have to be colored] the following vocabulary terms for Ch 12. They will be included in your reference book and are due by Friday (4/22). There will also be a vocabulary quiz on these words Friday (4/22).

Chapter 12 Vocab Words: nonvascular plants, vascular plants, gymnosperm. angiosperm, rhizoid, rhizome, pollen, pollinization, xylem, phloem, sepal, petal, stamen, pistal, ovary.

Knee Deep Into the CRCTs

Well, we have completed twwo days of CRCT testing. We will continue through next  Monday. Make sure you are getting plenty of sleep and having a good breakfast each morning.

We are reviewing this week for the science portion of the CRCTs. Below is the Biomes Review.
