We worked on completing our electric simulations in the computer lab today. If you have not finished, please do so for homework and have the three packs completed and turned in by Tuesday, 3-4-08.
Reading Cards or AR tests for your Feb. book was due to today. If you didi not turn one in, please do so on Monday.
We will start our circuit labs on Monday. Have a good weekend!
Monday through Wednesday we are presentinng our Electricity presentations. Most finished presenting today, but one or two will finish tomorrow.
We also are in the computer lab this week. Classes are working from a site from the Univ. of Colorado. The site is made up of electronic computer simulations that students work through to answer questions. We will be on the computers for the rest of the week. Next week, we will take these experiences into our own labs to build circuits and relays.
The test for next Tuesday has been posponed due to the time we will need for the simulations and labs. A future date will be announced later in the week or at the beginning of next week, depending on how we are progressing. I feel that these hands-on experiences are important for the students to truely understand how electricity works in our daily lives.
What a great time we have had learning about static charges and electric energy using the Van de Graaff generator.Today, we also broke into groups to start work on an in-class presentations. Students will continue in class tomorrow.Presentations will begin Monday, 02-25-08.

Most of the groups today did a great job on their Review Assignment. This is just another tool to help our studies.
The Ch 19 Test is tomorrow. There is an 8:25 am study sessionforthose interested.
A few students asked for an outline of the material on the test. As I wrote earlier, the back of Ch 19 has a good outline. But, I did construct an outline that you cna follow. Link to it below.

Students worked today on their review presentation. These are due Monday, 2/11/08. Take care of final details this weekend. The review for the chapter is in the book on p. 639. Link to the notes on PowerPoint is below.
Test for Chapter 19 next Tuesday, 2/12/08. Study session will be Tuesday morning at 8:25 am.
Today we worked in groups to prepare a review project for the class. We will continue to work on it tomorrow in class. Groups will present on Monday for a class review of Magnets and Electromagnatism.
Wednesday, 2/13/08, we will begin our unit on electricity.
