Waves
We are continueing our study of waves. Vocabulary for Chapters 15-18 were given on Monday and Tuesday due to scheduling for CRCT. We worked yesterday in class and will continue through Thursday. Vocabulary is due Tuesday, 5/6/08. There will be a vocabulary quiz on Thursday, 5/8/08.
Progress Reports were distributed today. Please have them signed and turned in by Monday, 5/5/08.

Today we took the Science portion of the CRCT tests. Tomorrow will be the Social Studies sections.

Six practice tests are available online for CRCT review.
www.georgiaoas.org is the link. Log in using the login and password given to you in your other classes.
The test are on Energy. force & motion, and matter. The titiles are :
DMS_8_Science1 thru DMS_8_Science6
All tests submitted to me by Monday, 04/28/08 with a 75% or better score will earn 3 bonus points on the final exam. That's 18 points total!
Week Of April 21th - 25th
This week we will start CRCT testing on Wednesday. Please get plenty of rest and eat a good breakfast so that you will be physically ready to do your best!
4/21 Monday - Students received their Simple Machine Quizes back, brief intro to waves, and astarted a CRCT test review.
4/22 Tuesday - Discuss Ch 11: Pressure. Turn in handouts from last week: Sections 15, 16, & 17.

Week Of April 14th - 18th
We started notes and questions on Pressure Monday and continued working on the assignment in class Tuesday. All questions and notes are due Thursday, 4/17/08.
Tomorrow through Friday, we will look at waves and their properties.
CRCT Tests begin next Wednesday, 4/23/08.
Welcome Back!! 8G Homeroom Wins Spirit Day!
Hope everyone had a great Spring Break! This morning, my homeroom enjoyed a celebration for winning the Homeroom Spirit Award during Field Day. I provided a donut breakfast for my class
and Nike donated an authentic Hawks' Jersey for each student. Congratulations to my homeroom - KAHT'S ORANGE CRUSH -for a job well done!!!

One Week Until Spring Break!
Test were given back today for 1st - 6th. 7th's will be given out tomorrow. Today, we worked on Guided Reading for Chapter 10, pp. 109-120 (sections 10.1 - 10.5). This will be due on Friday.
Reminder that Simple Machine Projects are due on Thursday. Don't forget that there will be a little quiz over simple machines on Wednesday as outlined in your project packet.I look forward to seeing some great efforts on this project.
