Assignments - Week of November 26-30

MONDAY: Continue to gather evidence for your WWW persuasive writing topic. Remember that all information must have the source cited. You need at least two sources of information.

TUESDAY: Complete all research and bring to class on Wednesday.

WEDNESDAY: No homework

THURSDAY: Study notes on clauses and sentences. Knowledge level quiz will be given on Tuesday. Complete worksheet given in class - both sides. Mark up sentences showing all that you know!

FRIDAY: Begin your  research for your second persuasive paper. The research and outline are due on Wednesday to be used in class. Start reading Nothing but the Truth. ( I bet that you'll finish it!!) You don't have to write the response to literature this weekend.

Assignments - Week of November 12-16

MONDAY: Review "Silence and Reticence" vocabulary for quiz tomorrow. Complete exercises as directed in Writing and Grammar p.327 - Exercise 20 and 21; p. 328- Exercise 22; p.329 - Exercise 23 and 24; p.427- Exercise 1 and p.429 - Exercise 2

TUESDAY: Complete exercises as directed. Page 435- Exercise 7 and 8; Page 391 - all.

WEDNESDAY: Review notes for knowledge level quiz on phrases which will be given tomorrow. Complete exercises as directed P.431 Exercise 4; p.433 Exercises 5 and 6.

THURSDAY: Complete worksheets on phrases.

FRIDAY: Read outside reading book.

Assignments - Week of November 5-9

MONDAY: NO SCHOOL!!!!!

TUESDAY: NO SCHOOL!!!!!

WEDNESDAY: First revision of your Response to Literature paper. Make sure you have the proper format for each body paragraph. Make sure you have introductions to your quotations and the page numbers are cited. Prepare your Works Cited list. Print a fresh copy for class tomorrow as we will continue to revise.

THURSDAY: Second revision of your response to literature paper. Focus on your introduction and conclusion. Remember to have a great hook, thesis statement, and closing thought (short and snappy). Print a fresh copy as we will finish revising tomorrow (sentence structure) and edit the paper. Final copy is due Monday (even for the girls who are going to Honor Chorus).

FRIDAY: Complete revisions and editing for the response to literature. Final copy, with all the supporting work, is due on Monday.
