Timed Writing Personal Narrative

What was the biggest challenge of the timed writing exercise which we completed in class today?

Your response should be a paragraph with a topic ( focus) sentence, elaboration, and a concluding sentence.

The hardest thing about the timed writing test is the amount of time you have. If you are a slow writer, then it will be really hard to finish it in time. The thing that was the easiest I think was the idea stage. The most important stage was the idea stage, but it is very easy.

The biggest challenge in doing the timed writing was obviously the limited time. This time limit gave me little time to think and make a rich story. But the time limit made me work faster and have a great deal of focus. All in all, this assesment made me learn about first of all time writing, the different processes of writing, and focus.

The biggest challenge that I faced writing the timed writing story was the revising stage. I had trouble with this stage because there were so many steps to it. I especially had trouble enriching my vocabulary. I do not think I had enough time to do this stage, but I got done what I thought was most important. I did not get to completely revise and put in all the details like in my personal narrative.

There are almost a zillion hard parts in the timed writing test we took yesterday. In my opinion the hardest part was trying to work with no other resources. I have never been the best speller, so I'm sure I was counted off in spelling. I also had trouble deciding on what sentences I should inclused because of space. I think I did wounderfully when it came to explaining the story of the move.

The biggest challenge of the writing exercise was probably revising. I was never any good at revising because I did not understand a lot of the stuff, but I do now since we have written 2 stories and focused mainly on revising and editing. I think my paragraph was probably one of the easiest and best pieces I have ever written.

I think the hardest part of the timed writing test was that we had less than 70 minutes to write some idea for a certain topic. We have to pick one of the ideas and do a rought draft for that idea. We want it to be really good and also we have pressure on us which is hard to think when that happens. The next day we still only have 70 minutes to revise, edit, and do a final copy. But I think I did pretty good anyway.

The biggest challenge of the timed writing exercise was that we didn't get to type the story on a computer. I don't have good hadwriting, so it is easier to type it. Also, I am not good at spelling and word has spell check. When I am trying to write fast, my hand hurts and that doesn't happen when I am typing. I think typing a story is much easier than writing it.

The hardest part was probably trying to make up my story because I've never actually moved before. However thinking of Ideas are also harder because I have gotten used to having a piece of paper sitting in front of me and having to write down a story off the top of my head.

The biggest challenge of the writing exercise was to write the final draft because I had to cross out a lot of things that made no sense to me. There was also some things that I couldn't understand, so I had to make a whole new sentence. Thats why The final draft was the biggest for me.

The biggest challenge of timed writing would have to be coming up with an idea. I couldn't think about what my idea would be over night because I didn't know what it was. Not only that, but the idea would count twice as much. Despite all of that, I finished my story in time. The fact that some of my story was true also helped. I think that in the end I did a good job.

The biggest challenge of the writing exercise was to write the was the rough draft because their was a lot of things that I wrote that didn't make any sense. When I noticed how to fix a certain run on sentence, I scratched it out and put something that actually made some sense.

The biggest challenge of the timed writing assignment was thinking of good topics and ideas in such a short amount of time. I think I need to work on getting my ideas on paper faster. It was also hard to edit becuase I'm used to typing. The computer does the editing for me. After I finished my timed writing though, it didn't feel like it was that hard.

The reason yesterday's timed writing was so hard is because we didn't get all the time we wanted to. It was very hard to think of ideas, write a rough draft, revise and edit, and make a final copy all in two class periods. We also had a limit on the amount of paper we could use. Only one sheet, front and back, for our final copy. This limits the detail of the story making it harder to do a good one. That is why I think it was so hard.
