Frost's Poetry

Which of Robert Frost's poems that we have studied in class is you favorite and why? Have you found another poem by Frost that you think your classmates would enjoy?

Comments

I really enjoyed "The Road Not Taken" because I thought it showed a lot more meaning than the other ones. I also found another Robert Frost poem that I thought was very meaningful.

Into My Own

One of my wishes is that those dark trees,
So old and firm they scarcely show the breeze,
Were not, as 'twere, the merest mask of gloom,
But stretched away unto the edge of doom.

I should not be withheld but that some day
into their vastness I should steal away,
Fearless of ever finding open land,
or highway where the slow wheel pours the sand.

I do not see why I should e'er turn back,
Or those should not set forth upon my track
To overtake me, who should miss me here
And long to know if still I held them dear.

They would not find me changed from him the knew--
Only more sure of all I though was true.

My favorite poem would be "The Road Not Taken." As I have done so on countless occasions in my life, this poem shows the process of decision making. One does not know the fate at the beginning. Only until time has passed can he or she determine if it was a good decision. The symbolism of the fork in the road represented a great example of decision making.

My favorite Robert Frost poem was "The Road Not Taken." I really liked how I was able to understand the language easily and how he pieced the story and words together. Also, this poem can relate to my life and everyone elses because we all make choices. The theme of this poem seemed the most closely realted to my life than any others I have read.

Although "The Road Not Taken" was my favorite, I also enjoyed reading all of the others in class. Finding the interesting themes hidden in Frost's poems and discussing them is probably the best part of literary analysis of poems to me.

My favorite poem is "Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening."
I would say that this poem is "easier" to read because it has rhyme, rhythm, and meter. I liked how Frost uses imagery and symbolism in all his poems.

My favorite Robert Frost poem is "The Road Not Taken". I enjoyed this poem because there can be so many meanings to the poem like whether he took a bad road or just a unpopular road. This poem also has a great theme that people today can easily relate to, follow what you want to, not what is popular. I love to debate and this poem can be debated easily. That is why my favorite poem is "The Road Not Taken".
