Bonjour, mes amis!  Bonjour, mes amis!  Bienvenue à mon < BLOG >!  Hi, my friends!  Welcome to my BLOG!  The BLOG will help you keep up with assignments and even act as a tutor when you are absent from class or simply need to review.  Of course, it is best always to be in class, but I recognize that isn't always possible.  Therefore, the BLOG should be a great benefit to you!

This year the BLOG has added a new feature.  Parents may sign up with their email address to receive an automatic update when I post a new entry to the BLOG.  My additions may be daily or weekly depending on the lessons planned.  Any time you wish to contact me however, it would be best to email me at

Linda.Reinecke@cobbk12.org making reference to your child in the email's title (or I may not respond if I didn't know your email address.  We get so much spam it's incredible!)  You certainly may telephone me at school, too.  I am a member of the 8-B team.  I have recently found though that email might be quicker.

Now for The French Lessons So Far:  We have learned how to count from 0 - 39; l'alphabet français, the 5 accents français, math facts and the 4 operations (to 39!), how to pose and answer questions regarding our name and age, body parts, classroom objects and classroom commands, and courtesy.  We have even taken our first three written QUIZZes on spelling the numbers 0 - 39.  Goodness - no wonder I'm tired!  The students are learning very quickly and are very enthusiastic!  They should be practicing every evening OUTLOUD!

If you missed any of the numbers quizzes, you should come before school one morning next week to make it up - 8:30.  Make ups are always before school so that you don't miss even more instruction, practice, and word play!

I have attached some of the powerpoints used in class for review.

Bonne Chance cette année!  J'aime la classe de français!

Amitiés,                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Madame

Reading week of 8-11-08

Hi, Class!  This week in Reading we are getting to know each other and are establishing the procedures for the year.  We know that we will do various activities to improve comprehension and to improve our vocabularies and that every Thursday is Current Event Day while every Friday is Silent Reading Day.  You also know that you have a Reading Log to complete documenting 30 minutes of reading daily that must be signed by a parent or guardian every Thursday and submitted every Friday.

This week we have also been to the Media Center to check out an Accelerated Reading Book.  You must read 3 AR Books and take its accompanying AR Test per quarter.  I will allow The Wave to be your first AR Book, but you still must take its AR Test.  Therefore, you owe me two more AR Books and their tests before October 8!

Bonjour, classe!  Hello, class!  Welcome to my BLOG!  You may use it to review today's lesson or especially to catch up when you are absent from class for any reason!  Usually I blog every day and typically attach both the PowerPoint I used in class as well as the worksheet.

Today in class, we practiced EVERYTHING again - - - the greetings, the name question and its answer, How are you? and the Très bien answer.  We practiced the alphabet and spelled our names in French and practiced the numbers 0-10 and then took it on up to 39!  We also are working on the date!  You even heard the months of the year after I spoke about my birthday!

You may download the Numbers 0-32 PowerPoint and Worksheet below!  Oh - - - your first written quiz will be writing the numbers 0-10 from memory on the exact sheet you have!

Au revoir!  À demain!
