Homework assignments will be for today, Thursday, and tomorrow, Friday.

I handed out the study guide for the test on religion and history today. We glued it in on page VI in your notebook. We have been talking about what to study all week, so this is really just meant as a summary and a focus for the material that comes from your I.N. and the textbook.  The test is Tuesday, November 1st.  Don't leave it until the last moment or until after you go Trick or Treating! It will be multiple choice.

I collected the activity today on the US Presence in the Middle East.  If you were absent, please be sure to hand it off to me.

Just a friendly reminder for what I have been telling you all week...Test on November 1st, on the religion section in the textbook and in your Interactive Notebook, and all of the history material.  I will be sending home a KNOW sheet tomorrow with more details.....

Today, in class, we completed the chart assignment that you began last weekend. We also moved into the next standard.

Remember that tomorrow your page of bulleted information is due.  You have had this assignment since Tuesday. You can type them if you want to, or simply write them out by hand.  Just remember to put them in the bulleted format...either pen or pencil...

Two things...

Be sure your chart is ready to go tomorrow...If you are missing percents for the ethnic groups, if they are given, add them in...Be sure you have info in every box.

Also, bulleted notes for pages 147 - 149 are due on Friday.

Please continue with the assignment from last night.  Read pages 147 -149 in your online textbook.  As you read, pay attention to new and different information in the reading.  Decide how you are going to track that information.  When all is said and done, the information that was new and different from anything that you heard or learned about in class will become your bulleted notes.  The bulleted notes need to be formatted in the way that I showed you in class.  Bullets under bullets, info under info...type it if you want to, or hand write...pencil or pen, your choice.  I will not be keeping these as they will become part of what you will study from when the next test comes along.  These are due on Friday, so you still have plenty of time, but don't procrastinate!  Friday will come faster than you think!

I did the first check of the homework chart from Friday, today.  I talked with you one on one and gave you some suggestions if it was appropriate for your efforts.  Overall, I would say that the work was quite good!  A good first attempt!

If you were absent on Friday, I gave you the paper today, and your work will be due on Wednesday.  Be sure to show me the assignment when it is completed.

For homework, tonight...all classes...

Start studying in your textbook the pages on the three religions of the Middle East.  It's pages 147 - 149.  Read it through one time, and then go back and pull out the information that we have not already talked about in class.  That information should be written down as study bullets, or typed, or, print the pages and highlight the information that we haven't already talked about.  We are past this standard, but the information will be on your test when it comes up rather quickly.  You should be studying this material now.

Good afternoon....This is your friendly reminder that you have an assignment due tomorrow....the making of the chart, and your SO WHAT answers to the information that you gathered.  Remember that you can only use the website listed, and that not every country is going to give out their information in a certain way.  Remember to use the rules of the assignment.  If you were absent, you will have two days to make this up.  Please come see me for the paper.

Your Mind Map is due tomorrow.  Tomorrow is the last day of the marking period.  It's a grading weekend for me and grades are due Monday, so this paper will not be taken late even for a lesser grade.  I have been very kind about taking late work this first quarter for a lesser grade.....The statement on my syllabus, that you all received, about late work will be strictly followedfrom next quarter on.

Reminders about the Mind Map.

• Should not be wordy at all.  That is part of your challenge...how to consolidate and categorize the information into small chunks.
• Look for the commonalities of all three.  Be consistent in how you present that from one branch to the other.
• No pencil, no black ink.
• Write in pen the color you assign to the group.
• Done in landscape.
• Can be computer generated.
• Must have a balance of pictures include.  All pictures must be in color - not black/white....color those in appropriately.
• Only that reading piece can be used - no other sources
• Name on the back NOT on the front.
• Creativity and neatness counts!

Work on your mindmapping activity that is due on Friday.  Start tonight so that if you have questions you can ask me tomorrow.  It can be all computer generated, or all done by hand.  Only three colors for the branches and the words are allowed.  All pictures should have their normal colors.  Pictures that are downloaded in black and white must be colored.  Colored pencils are for coloring in only...not for the writing...no black ink...landscape...use the whole page...you have the reading piece.  Do not use any other source this first time..
