Week of October 29th-November 2nd

Monday - Reviewed Hw from not yet gone over (wkbk pages 55 & 163. Hand out study guide for chapter 16, L 1-3. Listen to section 4, ch. 16 pp. 470-773. HW Learn pp 1-6 of study guide and complete teacher generted questions. Please note:::Had to change plans.....students didn't do homework, therefore, they had to complete homwork during class time.

Tuesday - Students will go to the computer lab to finish their research. Homework study, study, study for your test tomorrow!

Wednesday - Review questions from lesson three. Test chapter 16, lesson 1-3

Week of October 22nd-26th

Message "Picture retakes on October 23rd."

Monday - We will continue our research today, however you will have homework to complete, activity 16.1 and 16.2 worksheets, to review and reinforce what we have read in those two sections from chapter 16.

Tuesday - Continued work in the computer lab on research project.

Wednesday - checked homework and reveiwed ch. 16, L 1 & 2.

Thursday - completed a pre-reading activity before beginning to read Ch. 16, L3. Homework is complete workbook page 55, timeline guided reading.

Friday - Review Homework; do physical map test of M.E., Review HW p. 19 (In-Depth); in class p. 22-23; p. 28 making inferences (In-depth review). Study for the quiz on sections, 1-3, chapter 16. also complete worksheet making inferences, ch. 16 p. 28

Week of October 15th - 19th

Welcome back, hope you had a nice restful weekend.

Monday - We began class with a warm-up of the Middle East. Listened to Chapter 16, sec. 2 audio and began a venn diagram of oil, religion, and the women of the Middle East. HW - finish the venn diagram and complete the "sequencing events" from section 1, page 26 of the IN-depth resource book, p. 26.

Tuesday - check homework; warm-up map skills; review vocabulary; Read "guided reading pages 140-141 HW "Getting Graphic" (created a graph of oil barrels per day from the Middle Eastern countries. In addition, students need to read the reading study guide and answer the questions.

Wednesday - Early release - We will read the Jr. Scholastic story on Iran, pages 11-15, followed by completing questions on map skills.

Thursday - Review HW From Tuesday. Will do a warm-up on latitude/longitude, We will check for understanding of lesson 2, by completing a t/f questionaire (page 27 of In-depth Review).Then we will read an article from InspireEd entitled "Farming Desert"

Friday - In lab began research on countries of the Middle East

Week of October 8th-12th

Monday - Students will finish Middle East Timeline. Listened and followed along in the text to Chapter 16, section 1. Checked vocabulary.

Tuesday - In-depth Resouce p.17 - Read ch. 16 Study Guide p. 138-139

Wednesday - Finish Tuesdays work of the Reading Study Guide and In-depth resource - Begin a timeline of war/conflicts dates in Isreal and Palestine and the Middle East. Pop quiz using formal assessment .p.237

Thursday - Review the timeline - catch up glueing into notebook - in-class work "In-depth resource, skillbuilder. (pp. 24 & 26). HW Complete Main Idea Question pn page 453; a,b,c.

Week of October 1st - 5th

Monday - Today we reviewed all the answer to the study guide and practiced our vocabulary in prep. for test on Thursday. Homework study, study, study.

Tuesday - We  finished the last section in our chapter 15 and completed two hand-outs "Reading study guide" and "glossary after you read" HW finish any hand-out not completed during class and study for test.

Wednesday - Took a chapter vocabulary test. Reviewed study guide.

Thursday - Chapter 15 test.

Friday - Constructed an historical timeline of the Middle East.
