10/30/07 - Today we learned how to tell the difference between there, their, and they're. We also learned how to identify and punctuate appositives. The students were given a study guide on Monday for the big noun test on Wednesday. Please help them study tonight. They should also look over the handouts they have received. I will be having a study session tomorrow morning at 8:30 A.M. Everyone should try to attend if they can.
10/29/07 - Today we learned about concrete, abstract, and collective nouns. The students also received their study guide for the noun test this Wednesday. They do have homework, to finish a worksheet about reviewing nouns. Please study each night for the noun test.
10/26/07 - Today we worked on possessive nouns. We did exercise 50 & 51 in the WAG book. There is no homework. However, we will have a noun test next Wednesday. I'll be sending home a study guide on Monday.
10/25/07 - Today we learned about possessive nouns and how to tell the difference between possessive and plural nouns. Everyone has homework. They need to finish a worksheet that we started in class.
10/24/07 - Today we learned how to change singular nouns into plural nouns, and all of the rules that apply to this procedure. There is no homework.
10/23/07 - Today we worked some more on common and proper nouns. There is no homework.
10/22/07 - Today we learned more about nouns, both common and proper. The assignment was to do p. 295 (Ex. 1 & 2), p. 298 (Ex. 4 & 5). Also workbook p. 1, 2, 5, 6. Most of the students have homework tonight
10/19/07 - Today we took the big sentence test. There is no homework.
10/18/07 - Today we reviewed for the big sentence test tomorrow. Please go over your study guides tonight so that you are prepared for the test. STUDY, STUDY, STUDY!!!!!
10/17/07 - Today we worked on identifying and correcting run-on sentences. There is no homework. Remember to look at your study guide every night in preparation for the test on Friday.
