It's OCTOBER!  The nine weeks will be coming to a close this month.  Make sure to stay focused!

3rd/5th Periods
Today I returned the test from Friday on Narrative Poetry and we reviewed it.  Then, I also returned the "Fish Cheeks" performance assessment.  On the whole, students did not do as well as I'd hoped on this assignment, so we reviewed it in depth today and students will be given another chance to demonstrate their understanding on Wednesday, 10/3, with a different story. 

6th Period
Today students were given back their graded test from Friday.  We reviewed it, and I answered any questions regarding the test.  Then, I gave students the reflection form for the narrative essays and also showed them a model of what it should look like when completed.  They were given time in class to complete the reflection - which does count toward the writing process grade for the narrative.  Students who had not finished the essays were given the opportunity to go to the lab today to complete it.  Finally, students read a short story entitled "Fish Cheeks" in class as a model for the personal narrative that we will be writing later this week.
