Major brain drain today guys…the test scores are out in Pinnacle and most of you should be really proud of yourselves. You know as well as I do that it was challenging, so tonight, enjoy your success. If you’re not happy with your score then get ready to buckle down for the next one. Tomorrow we start the dreaded integers.
Tomorrow is when the rubber meets the road. TEST! A big one, a bad one, a very challenging one…so rest well and get ready to knock it right out of the park. The review power point is in the supplemental section above and I’m here to tell you, it looks a lot like your test tomorrow…if you know what I mean.
Translating words to math was certainly a relaxed way to start the week…but don’t relax too much…we have a monster test coming Wednesday. Get your homework done and come in tomorrow with you questions.
Homework: WS 1-8 Practice A and Reteach both sides
For most of you, the quiz went pretty well. It’s on Pinnacle. I know that it was hard and I’m very proud of how you guys did. Don’t forget though, we have a huge test next Wednesday that will cover everything and I mean everything in Unit 2. It will be a real challenge.
Okay crew, change of plans. We’ll be having a quiz this coming Friday instead of our test. It will be over combing like terms, PEMDAS and evaluating. The Unit Test will be next Wednesday, Sep 28 so you will get a slight reprieve. (If you can tell me what reprieve means in the morning, it will be worth a smartie to me.)
Grind, grind, grind guys…PEMDAS is heavy duty real big math. Your folks know this as the Order of Operations and some of them will even remember the old phrase “Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally”. Do parenthesis first, then exponents, then multiplication or division from left to right, and last addition or subtraction from left to right. We’ll practice more tomorrow and our Power Point from today is in the supplemental section up above. Enjoy
