1st Period has a vocabulary quiz over words from Farewell to Manzanar.

2nd Period:  Identify characters from Farewell to Manzanar.

2nd and 3rd Periods

Study for the test on Twentieth Century Asia.  Use the Study Guide, the textbook, and your Reading Study Guide.  The test will be over chapters 21, 22, and 24 and related pages in your Interactive Notebook.

We will continue reading in the novels assigned to your particular group.  Lit Circle roles for session 2 will be due Thursday at the beginning of class.

We will continue reading Farewell to Manzinar after the test.  There will be comprehension questions to answer and vocabulary to define and use in a sentence.

2nd and 3rd

We are participating in Literature Circles in class.  The students will read in class as well as out of class.  Each person has a "job" for each discussion session.  We will meet approximately every other day to complete the readings, the completion of your responsibilities in the group, and the discussion.  You will be expected to read and respond to about 50-60 pages per session. 

Use the Study Guide for 20th Century Asia handed out in class today to guide your review of the unit. (Chapters 21, 23, and 24)

The test will be over South Asia, Southeast Asia, and East Asia in the Modern Age (20th Century).  We will begin a novel study in all classes on Thursday.
