Finsh the study guide/discussuin packets for The Clay Marble.  I will be available in my room at 8:00 A.M. if you have not finished reading the book and answering the questions.

Continue to review for the social studies final exam on Wednesday.

Several students have not returned their textbooks.

1st and 2nd

Our topic of study for the rest of the week, except for the final on Wednesday, is "Your Financial Future".  Go to www.investorwords.com to define the following terms:  Spending, Saving, Credit, Investing.  Define each term, create an illustration of the term, and give 3 "real life" examples of each of these terms.  Talk to your parents about the terms, and ask if they have any examples to discuss with you.  You may go to http://www.eduplace.com/graphicorganizer/pdf/cluster.pdf to create a cluster (semantic web) of these terms and examples.

3rd and 4th periods

The haiku poem is due Tuesday.  The Final Exam in Social Studies is comprehensive and will be based on the Georgia Performance Standards, as was all instruction this year.  You may download a copy of the standards using the link in this blog.  It will serve as your study guide for the Final Exam.

  Also,use your Reading Study Guide, Chapters 15-24, to study for the test.

We will finish watching the video, "China Revealed" on Monday.  Anyone who has not made up the Chapter 24 test, please come in at 8:15 A.M. on Monday.

Your haiku is due Tuesday.

Homeroom Information

Envelopes were given to students this week in which to place $1.00 so that report cards and other end-of-year information can be mailed home.  Please bring this in by Friday, May 15th.

Download Haiku Agenda:  Ch. 24 Test;  Analyze several haiku poems and create three original haikus.  Complete the assignment described on the link. 

1st and 2nd

Download Adaptive CreativityAfter completing the timeline of Japan's Adaptive Creativity.  Answer the questions on the attached link.

All classes

Complete the Ready Study Guide for Chapter 24, including pages 716-724.  Also study relevant material about East Asia's economy and government in your ISN.

Ch. 24 test on May 7th.

Final Exam is May 20th.

Please begin returning your textbooks to school the week of May 11th.
