Social Studies

The political cartoons are due Monday.  Please have your cartoon, the anlaysis chart, and the rubric to turn in.

TEST ALERT!  The test over Southeast Asia is Thursday, April 2nd.  Study the material in the textbook (Ch. 23) and your interactive notebook.  We will have a vocabulary quiz on Tuesday over the Vocabulary words in the text, the 5 Political Cartoon words, and the words on page 53 ISN (On Level) and 7.1 (AC). 

Spend some time organizing your notebook.  TOC are attached.  Also, if your supplies need to be replaced (highlighters, pens, pencils, colored pencils, or gluestick), take care of that this weekend.  We still have a lot of school work to do, and you are responsible for having your materials with you every day.

The Political Cartoons will be due on Monday, March 30th.  Please put time, thought, and effort into this project.  All directions were given out in class on Tuesday.  Those of you involved in the chorus performance assessment will get your information on Wednesday.

Review the information on political cartoons.  Yahoo search "It's No Laughing Matter" will take you to the website for the activity we started in class today.  Complete the three remaining cartoon analyses.

Agenda:  View video "Way of the Heart".  It's about the cultural, political, and historical developement of Vietnam. Take notes to prepare for comparing and contrasting how nationalism led to independence in both India and Vietnam.  Complete the vocabulary worksheet following the video.
