3rd and 4th Periods

Performance assessment assigned on Tuesday involves evaluating Mohandas Gandhi's  non violent tactics to achieve change in India.

 

The students will be creating a flip book with examples of boycott,protest, fasting and speeches.  They may review the play we read in class, their book and the Cobb Virtual Library for examples. 

We spent one day in class reviewing and discussing Ghandi's approach to change and one day in the computer lab researching Ghandi.

 

The final copy will include well written, complex sentences, and original drawings. 

 

This assignment is due on Monday March 2, 2009.

 

 

 

1st and 2nd

Work on the paper about Ghandi.  It is due Monday.

3rd and 4th

Reasearh Mohandas Ghandi.  Read expecially to find out more about the tactics he used to help secure India's independence from Great Britain.  The "flip book"  will be due Monday.

1st and 2nd Periods

We will be working on the Biography of Mohandas Ghandi in class on Wednesday.  Any additional research will be homework.  Your current event for South Asia is due Friday.

2nd period.  Complete the homework lesson for Mr.Dowling website.  "A history of conquest." is the title of the lesson.

3rd and 4th

Chapter 21 Vocabulary:  Define and/or explain the significance of the terms on pages 609 and 615.

Write a sentence using each term demonstrating your understanding of its meaning and relationship to India's history.

1st and 2nd Periods

Click on mrdowling.com and go to India.  It is the Taj Mahal icon.  Read the entries "A history of Conquerors, Ghandi, Partition,  and India Since Independence.  Read the articles, and complete the associated homework assignments.

3rd and 4th
