Tuesday, May 22nd

Returned Post Tests and compared the Pre and Post test scores.  Students learned a remarkable amount of information this year about our world.

2 and 3rd period classes are watching Cry, the Beloved Country as a follow up to our novel study.

1st and 4th are watching Continent of Possibilities, which is revealing an amazing number of Atlanta connections to Africa.

Please do not bring your interactive notebooks to class.  I will provide the material you will need.

Read Cry, the Beloved Country through Chapter 27 and answer appropriate questions on the handout.

1st and 4th periods

1.  Answer questions on handout after reading Lesson 3 and 4 of Chapter 23. 

2.  Categorize the countries of Southern Africa according to the type of government they have.  Label countries on the map of Southern Africa and create a key.

The date for the Social Studies post test has been changed from May 23 to May 21.

1st and 4th Periods

Continued the study of Africa's economy with a lesson on the mining of gold and the problems of safety.

The date for the Social Studies Post Test has been changed to May 21st.  The test over South Africa is still May 16th.
