Help session sentence types

Tomorrow morning, Tuesday, I will have a help session tomorrow morning at 8:15 to give instruction for sentence types. If you need help with this, please plan to be here tomorrow morning!

Help Session for Co-Taught Classes (periods 3, 6, and 7)

Tomorrow is the Clauses and Sentence Type test. I am offering help at 8:15 tomorrow, Friday, morning. Come with your questions.

The following information is being given out in the atrium when parents arrive for conferences. Just in case you miss it this is the information from Mrs. Brink:

"For years, our wonderful students have been allowed to wear Halloween costumes to school. They have always shown good judgment and followed the rules so that this can happen. For the first time last year, we had students choose to wear costumes that violated the school dress code. This is frustrating because it ruins it for everyone. This year, we will once again, allow students to wear their costumes to school (Monday, 10/31); however, if a student does choose not to follow the rules, consequences will apply. Thank you."

Coming up:

Tomorrow, October 18, Vision and hearing screening. Be sure to wear your glasses or contacts. You will do this during your language arts class.

Wednesday, October 19, 7th grade dance until 5:45. Things to remember: You must stay for the entire time, you must be picked up (you may not walk home,) parents are to pick up at 5:45 in the back parking lot.

Reflections contest entries are due Friday, October 20.

Next week, October 24-28 is conference week. There will be an early release schedule.

Today in class, students wrote a Clause Poem. (Specifics are on Mr. Cobb's blog if you were absent.) If you did not finish the poem in class, it IS HOMEWORK! Also if you did not complete the workbook pages in class they are homework as well.

There will be a quiz over complex, compound-complex sentences and adjective and adverb clauses on Thursday.

There is a homework tonight in the grammar workbook covering independent and subordinate clauses. Please check Mr. Cobb's blog for the pages. This was started in class; it is only homework if you did not complete it at that time.

There will be a quiz on Tuesday, October 11 over the Sentences and Clauses notes that we took today. The PowerPoint notes are posted on Mr. Cobb's blog for those students who need a copy printed out. Let me know if you are unable for any reason to not print out the notes if you need them.
