It has come to my attention that there are parent emails that for some reason have not been being delivered to several teachers' mailboxes. This results in you thinking that teachers are purposely ignoring you. This is certainly not the case. I have sent emails requesting confirmation of receipt of my communication and most of you have responded. Thanks so much for that!

 

I have checked with our tech specialist, and she cannot determine why the emails may not be coming through. Please, if you have tried to contact me via email and have not received a response, call the office and leave a message for me to call you so that we can try and resolve the emailing issue.

In class today, students were to have finished posting three narratives to Essay Scorer. The link and directions for accessing this website are on Mr. Cobb's blog. Please be sure that you edit your own work, so we get a true picture of YOUR writing.

 

On the blog, there are also example essays that we showed you in class about how to improve your writing as well as a scoring guide for how your grade will be derived.

We are continuing to work on narrative writing. Students are currently working on a piece of writing from a prescribed prompt. The next challenge will be to come up with their own idea. Our goal is to write a five paragraph narrative. If you are reading this as a parent, engage your child in a discussion about the story he or she is writing.
