We have a started the unit on Systems of Equations. We began with graphing. We will begin substitution tomorrow. There will be a quiz on Friday on graphing and substitution.
Next week we will solve systems with elimination. The test on this unit will be on Thursday, May 15th.
We begin preparing for the exam on Friday, the 16th and the following Monday. The math exam will be on Tuesday.
We are reviewing all week using the Coach CRCT book. Students are writing out each problem and they will bring their work home prior to the test next week. I am also sending a packet home for students to complete. It will be due before the math portion for a grade.
We are working on Unit 6 - Congruence. Students are learning about the measure of angles created by parallel lines cut be a transversal. We will finish this unit this week.
Starting next week, we will begin reviewing for the CRCT. We will continue preparing for the test following Spring Break. Students can practice basic skills by logging onto the Dickerson website. Go to Curriculum where you will find Skills Tutor. This is a online program.
We have finished the 1st half of unit 5. Due to low test scores, we will be making test corrections today.
We began the 2nd half of Unit 5 yesterday - writing slope intercept equations from given information:slope and y intercept, a graph, slope and a point, two points, a table and arithmetic sequences.Hopefully we will finish this unit next week.I have made the worksheets to include daily practice of previous lessons.
We will also begin practicing for the CRCT. Students can practice basic skills at home. The Skills Tutor program can be found on Picasso - Parent which is on the Cobb County website.
2/13 We began working on finding slope using the slope intercept form and solving for the x and y intercepts. Students are also learning how to convert equations from standard form to y intercept.On Thursday we will be reviewing the concepts in preparation for a quiz on Friday. This will be an open note quiz.
On 2/20, we will begin writing slope intercept equations from arithmetic sequences. We will also be graphing linear inequalities. The test on this unit will be on 2/25
Students in Mrs. Reinecke's reading class.----Three AR books are to be read each quarter. Students are also reading a mystery for LA classes. If the mystery is an AR book this can count towards reading class.
We just finished Unit 4 on arithmetic sequences which leads us into the slope of a line.
The students calculated their walking rate per second by timing how long it took each of them to walk 10 meters. We will apply this to the distance formula: d = rt and discuss similar scenarios.
1/29 - Comparing walking rates. Homework will be a worksheet on cycling rates per hours. Students will make a table, graph data and write equations.
Since we have returned to school, we are finishing Unit 4. We have been working on patterns and sequences.
Monday - Students will be determining the function formula in order to find any term in a sequence.
Tuesday - Students will learn the explicit or closed formula to find a term in a sequence.
Wednesday - Writing test. More practice with explicit formula
Thursday - Review for Quiz
Friday - Quiz on Arithmetic Sequences.
1/21 - No School
We are beginning the unit on Functions and Patterns. We will be working mainly from the textbook -Chapter 3. Students will be able to practice using the online textbook. We are studying ordered pairs, the coordinate plane, and functions. We will finish this unit after the holidays.

The quiz on set theory is tomorrow. Students were given a review worksheet which we filled out in class. Homework is a Venn Diagram worksheet.
The test is on Monday. This will included everything that is on the quiz plus complements---we will be practicing this concept on Thursday.
We have just begun Unit 4 on Venn Diagrams and Set Theory. We will practice making Venn Diagrams in class.

Later this week, we will be discussing sets, elements and subsets. There will be a quiz next week.
