General Announcements

We will be starting our Board Game Drive for Powers Ferry Elementary School this Friday Dec. 2nd.  Information will come home Friday.  Please help us support this project!

6th grade students are collecting new board games for 4th and 5th grade students Dec. 2nd - 8th.           Here are some suggestions:

Complete your paragraph on "If I Were a Gift...". Remember this can not be a gift for yourself.  This rough draft is due tomorrow.

Bring scissors and colored pencils or markers for class tomorrow.

Complete your newspaper article on the story "Dog of Pompeii"(Lit Book-p. 312).  You may tell it as if you are a reporter on the scene ofr an archiologist making an amazing discovery into the past.  Make sure you have 5-7 sentences, and remember to include the facts with what, when, where, who, and why.  This rough draft is due tomorrow.

Students shared their turkey letters to Mr. Pilgrim in class today.

Complete your version of a If You Give a Mouse a Cookie... short story.  Make sure you have at least 10 sentences, and remember to include some complex sentences.  This rough draft is due tomorrow.

Thank you to all parents contributing items to our Thanksgiving Treat Project.  We  completed it so much!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.   I am thankful to be working with such a fantastic group of students and parents this year!

Language Arts 

Make sure you have completed the handout (gold paper).  It is a letter from you(the turkey) to Mr. Pilgrim.  We will check this on Monday when we return from the week off.

Today we had a special lesson with Mrs. Inman in the Media Center to work on reference skills.

THIS WEEK----YEARBOOK SALE!  $30.00 Students were given a student money envelope with "Yearbook" stamped on it this morning (Monday) for their week of yearbook sales. Only 6th grade should send in payment November 15-18.

Thank you to all parents contributing items to our Thanksgiving Treat Project.  We continued working on it today and will complete it on Thursday!

Due to the short schedule today we will complete the Adjective Test Thursday, Nov. 17th. You have 3 adjective packets to study and a handy list that should have been copied in your agenda today.  Bring a # 2 pencil for the test.

Complete the handouts on proper adjectives and demonstrative adjectives.

Complete the art work on your miniature locker and the green handout with lists of adjectives and nouns for your "Extreme Dream Locker Makeover" Project.  This is due Monday. 

Veteran's Day is Today, Friday, 11/11/11.  Students wrote thank you/get well cards to veterans.  I personally delivered them to the Veteran's Hospital in Decatur, GA, Thursday.  They were very appreciative!

Parents please check your child's agenda for "Pink Stamps":  Usually assignments in language arts are started in class to provide students a chance to ask questions and have clarification.  Many times students are given the opportunity to complete the assignment for homework.  If the work is not completed and shown in class the next day, they will receive an "INCOMPLETE HOMEWORK & PARENT SIGNATURE"  Pink Stamp in their agenda.  Please sign these, so I will know you received the message.
