Students may use information on "Boarding Passes" from actual passengers on the Titanic, books, Reader's Journey and Literature Book selections, video accounts to create an essay.  

Topic "A Day on the Titanic".  In three paragraphs tell about one of the days, April 10-14, 1912, as a passenger, crew member or object.  Who will you be?  How did they spend their day?  Describe the setting carefully---remember this was in 1912!       We typed, edited, printed and highlighted today.  If you didn't complete this it is due Mon.

Today students saw a video account of the Titanic and the submarine that filmed it as it is now on the ocean floor.

Students use information on "Boarding Passes" from actual passengers on the Titanic, books, Reader's Journey and Literature Book selections, video accounts to create an essay.   Topic "A Day on the Titanic".  Tell about one of the days, April 10-14, 1912, as a passenger or crew member.  Who will you be?  How did they spend their day?  Describe the setting carefully---remember this was in 1912!     Complete the rough draft for homework tonight.  We will type and edit on Thursday & Friday.

Spelling Quiz was today on Unit 8

Students read information on "Boarding Passes" from actual passengers on the Titanic.  We discussed the answers on the blue handout from the selection in the Lit. book.

Homework for tonight...think of ideas for the essay topic "A Day on the Titanic".  Tell about one of the days as a passenger or crew member.  Who will you be?  How did they spend their day?  Remember this was in 1912!     Tomorrow we will write the rough draft and type on Thursday & Friday.

Today students worked on a vocabulary anticipation guide for information on the Titanic and also viewed 2 video clips.  Correct answers were given at the end of the period.

Bring your Reader's Journey book to language arts tomorrow.

Spelling prequiz on Unit 8 today.  Remember to use this for studying the specific words you missed.  Complete the handout on compound words for tomorrow.  There should be no blank spaces!
