Remember to bring your agenda, L A binder, and library book daily to class.

Bring your white 3x5 lined index cards everyday for the next 2 weeks.  We will be creating a flip chart of the 8 parts of speech.  It will count as a project grade.  If you are absent you will need to make up the work.

Students were given a colored 3x5 index card in class today to place as the Title card on the project.  They were also given a large hole punched card to use as a base for all cards (as we complete them daily).

Assignment for 8/23/07:

Complete your final typed copy of the " I Am" poem (started in class Tuesday).  Use the handout to start each line with the correct words.  These were typed today in the computer lab at school and saved to your space on the computer.  If you were absent or didn't finish, you will need to make this up at school.

Tomorrow you will also need a #2 pencil for class.

Language Arts Summer Reading Information-----As stated on the Dickerson web site, there will be a test Thursday, 8/23, on the required summer reading book Word Eater by Mary Amato.  You may want to skim through it again.

Assignment for 8/21/07:

Students received their workbooks today.  They may write in these.  If lost they will cost $10 to replace.

Each student was given a Writing Portfolio today (to be kept in class)  for their writing collection this year.

Complete your rough draft of the " I Am" poem (started in class today).  Use the handout to start each line with the correct words.  This will be due Thursday.  We will type these in the computer lab at school.

Tomorrow meet me in the computer lab Room E 3.  We will learn how to log in and save to your special space on the computer at school.
