I forgot to blog yesterday but thats because there was no new lesson. We took our first test of the 3rd Quarter. It was our Unit 5 Part 1 Test.  If you were absent, you need to come in one morning this week and make up the test.

Today we started Unit 5 Part 2. We learned point slope formula and how to rearrange to slope intercept form.  Here is the presentation from today: Download 1_31_12. The homework is the "Slope Intercept Form Given a Slope and a Point" WS (both sides #1-20) that I handed out at the end of class.

Today we reviewed for the test we have on Monday. Students completed a review packet in class and we went over all answers.  I have includeded a copy of the review packet and answers on the blog in case you were absent so that you can study for Monday!! Today we reviewed everything we have covered in the past few days. We completed two worksheets in class and assigned a third worksheet for homework. All 3 should be complete when you enter class tomorrow. I also returned graded quizzes to all students. Here is the presentation from today: Download 1_26_12. The first two worksheets should have been completed in class and the third is homework, although ALL THREE should be done tomorrow. I will check one of the three for a grade.

Today we wrote equations in slope intercept form from a graph. We also began rearranging equations from standard form to slope intercept form. Here is the presentation from today: Download 1_25_12. Today we checked our quiz review in class and answered any questions and then took our Unit 5 Part 1 Quiz. After the quiz, we completed a worksheet together as a class to look at slope as rate of change with graphs and word problems. Here is the presentation: Download 1_23_12 Quiz. Any problems we didnt finish in class on the worksheet, students should finish at home.

Yesterday we took the Writing Assessment so there was no math class or homework. Today we took a second graded assignment in class. Next we looked at x and y intercepts. Today we spent more time looking over slope. We completed a worksheet in class together and the students started a Slope Review Packet on their own.  This packet will be due Thursday. Today we looked at slope as a constant rate of change. We used word problems, tables, and arithmetic sequences to determine slope.  Here is the presentation: Download 1_13_12 Slope Day 4. Homework is to finish the worksheet "Reteach/Problem Solving" that we started in class.  Some classes finished it during class.
