ALP:  We finished "Flowers for Algernon" and answered questions 1-9.  If you were absent, please do this tonight and hand in tomorrow.  We'll have a multiple choice test on the story tomorrow.  Please bring your March novel to read after the test.  Lesson 8 vocabulary exercises A, B & C are also due tomorrow. 

8LA:  We finished listening to "The Adventure of the Speckled Band" and started a story chart on the mystery.  Please finish.  As of today you should have four completed story charts.  (Monkey's Paw, Tell Tale Heart, The Black Cat & "The Adventure of the Speckled Band") Lesson 8 vocabulary exercises A & C are also due tomorrow.

ALP:  In celebration of "Dr. Seuss Day" and "National Reading Day" we took a trip back through time and read The Cat in the Hat preschool style.  Students wrote a creative response in their warm up journals.  we continued reading Flowers for Algernon, May 23- June 10.  Tomorrow we'll finish the story.  Wednesday we'll have a test on the story.  Please bring your copy of The Pearl to class on Monday!  (Oh, today's competition was scanning a list of 49 states to find the missing one.  Nice job, winners!)

8LA:  We started a Sherlock Holmes tale in class and added to our story charts.  We also reviewed mystery vocabulary!
