Today students practiced punctuation skills by working with run-on sentences and the correct use of semi-colons. We also corrected the work students did on their capitalization homework.

Today we reviewed the rules of capitalization. Students worked on the packet of this material.

Welcome back to school; it was great to see all of you. Today we corrected the subject-verb agreement test and practiced more with subject verb-agreements. Those students who made an 80 or less will take another test tomorrow over this topic. Study you notes and the worksheet we had in class today to study. The first thing the students did today was take a quiz. Then we discussed the way that the Freak the Mighty work should be organized. Students also began to take notes on subject verb agreement.
The Freaky contract work goes in this order:
Cover, Contract, the three projects, Theme Chart. Please have everything together before you enter the class room to turn it in on Wed., April 2. You may staple, hole punch, or paper clip the project together, or you may place it in a report cover folder.

Today, Wed., March 26, students first worked on 5 questions of CRCT review material. Students then checked their homework, The Four Principal Parts of Irregular Verbs. We then discussed the simple and perfect tenses and learned/practiced conjugating the verbs. Finally, students reviewed a bit about using web sites for research.
HW: Review principal parts of verbs and tenses of verbs ( pages 493 to 503 in WAG book) for a quiz tomorrow; complete page 503, ex, 16 and 115 and 116 in workbook.
Students reviewed the principal parts of verbs by explaining how to form these parts. Students also reviewed irregular verbs and began to work on these pages in their workbooks: 111, 113 and 114.
HW: Finish workbook pages. Quiz Thursday--review notes on verbs. Freak the Mighty work is due on Wed. April 2.
Students were given a copy of the theme chart that is the required piece of the Freak the Mighty packet. The whole packet is due on Wed., April 2. Students also took notes on the principal parts of verbs.
