May 18 to May 22

Students will present their technology projects on Tuesday after finishing them on Monday.

On Wed., and Thursday we will have class work that reviews the elements of literature we studied this year.  Although we will not have homework, the projects and class work will be graded. 

Speaking of the projects, I am having difficulty locating some of your group's work electronically. This mainly pertains to 3rd period.   I will speak to you Wed. to ask you to find the work for me; you will not have time to work on the project, so if you know you are missing something, bring it to class on a jump drive, etc.  No work will be accepted after tomorrow as I have  planned to finish grading tomorrow.

Thursday, May 14

The products are going great!  I have received email from the HAJA  corporation which is making fruity delights, a fun fruit product.  I also have heard from JAST company which is producing bio-degradable "green"  pocket monster cards.  Another group worked hard on a video ad for their candy making business!  I also saw the GH logo for a Grand Hotel that is being planned by a group of boys,   We have two more days to work on this project and then we will present them to our class and another class.

Today we ended our poetry unit with Lyric poems, Bio poems and some more iambic pentameter.  We will go to the computer lab tomorrow to type some of the best poems.

Michelle, Arthur, Charlie, Conner, Sam, Braxton, Dustin, Noura, AJ, Jonah, Brooke, Megan, Bryan and James, please bring your permission slip in tomorrow!

Period 2 and4 : Today we read "The Cremation of Sam McGee" and "The Badger" and tried to write some iambic pentameter verse.  Some students were very successful and opened minded, some really did not like it at all.  Which were you?  HW:  None

Period 3:  Please turn in your Frayer model for Lesson 15 Classical Roots work.  We also read "Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout" and "The Cremation of Sam McGee" to learn about rhyme scheme. HW:  None

Monday, May 3

Period 3:  Worked on Lesson 15 Frayer models to help learn the vocab words.  We began to discuss rhyme scheme.  HW:  none
