Periods 2 and 3: We went to the media center to check out an historical fiction book for a timeline assignment, which we will complete in two weeks.  You need to complete the map and capitals of Eastern Europe for tomorrow.

We reviewed on NATO and the Warsaw Pact countries and began with the Cold War.  You need to read pages 346-347 0f your text and complete page 39 of your workbook on the Cold War.

Homework: Complete the map on the Cold War, finish the article and determine the effects the Cold War had on Europe and Berlin.  Bring colored pencils and a highlighter to class tomorrow.

Periods 1 and 4 - Please have a folder with brads for our novel study on Monday.

We discussed the terms Iron Curtain, puppet government, one-party system, Five-Year Plans, and collective farms. We also went over the questions any economic system must answer as it relates to communism.  Read pages 342-346 (up to the Cold War) in your text and complete page 39 (up to the Cold War) in your workbook.

There is no assignment tonight.  Make sure you have your colored pencils for tomorrow.
