Today we reviewed the time and talked about the different time zones in the United States. Students figured out the time in other cities taking Atlanta time as reference. They need to write 3 more sentences of additional cities for homework.

We also reviewed all expressions of time telling with the song: "1,2,3 que hora es? They filled in the blanks of the song and sang along with the lyrics once they completed their paper.

TAREA/HOMEWORK: Write 3 sentences about times in different cities of the USA. Bring to class the vocabulary cards on -AR verbs that were made on Nov. 4, 2011

Dictado de la hora

Hoy hace mucho frio, llueve un poco y esta muy nublado. La temperatura es aproximadamente 40 grados Farenheit.

Today we checked homework on their personal schedules and activities, we talked briefly about the conjugations of some verbs in the Tu and Yo forms.

Students had a time telling dictation: they had to put the times on the clocks that were given and then write out the sentences explaining what time it was.

TAREA/HOMEWORK: Finish the sentences if they were not completed in class.

Today we reviewed time telling, students had to tell when they had some of their classes. We also talked about favorite tv shows, the channels where they are shown and the times when they are presented.

TAREA/HOMEWORK: Answer worksheet questions 9 to 19 about their personal schedules, tv shows, activities, etc.

Hoy esta nublado, llueve mucho y el viento es fuerte. Hay probabilidad de tornado.

Today we introduced how to tell the time: o'clock, quarter past, half past and quarter to (en punto, y cuarto, y media, cuarto para/menos cuarto)

Students worked in pairs telling their partners different times and they had to set their paper plates on the times given. We also worked on a worksheet for additional practice.

Today we reviewed numbers 1 to 60 as a warm up activity to start working with time telling.

Students also made their paper plate clocks in class.

Hoy esta nublado, hace frio y hace viento. La temperatura es aproximadamente 57 grados Farenheit.

Today students took the test on classes, classroom objects, wants and needs in school, number and gender in adjectives, articles and nouns.

TAREA/HOMEWORK: Study numbers 1 to 60 and bring a paper or styrofoam plate to class. If they do not have a plate, they can make a circle of the size of a plate out of construction paper or cardboard. If students do not bring their plate or circle they will nto be able to participate in some of the activities planned for tomorrow.

Today we continued with the review for the test this coming Monday. We checked pages 79 & 80 on guided practice side of the book related to the use of definite and indefinite articles in Spanish as well as masculine and feminine endings of nouns, adjectives and articles.

Students watched a video on the use of articles and completed a worksheet on that as well. If there are any questions on the worksheet you can check answers on the attached file.Download Definite & indefinite article DE video

Hoy hace sol, hace viento y hace fresco. La temperatura es aproximadamente 58 grados Farenheit.

Today we started our review for the test on Monday Nov. 14. We went over vocabulary of classroom objects, classes and adjectives to describe classes/teachers.

Students used "HAY + indefinite articles" to describe what they saw on the picture of a classroom. They also asked each other questions related to their classes:

1. Que clase es? Es la clase de Educacion Fisica
2. En que periodo tienes la clase de Espanol? Tengo la clase de Espanol en el segundo periodo.
3. Como es la clase de Matematicas? La clase de Matematicas es dificil.
4. Como se llama tu profesora de Ciencias Naturales? Mi profesora de Ciencias Naturales es la Sra. Roth
5. Que necesitas para la clase de Arte? Yo necesito los lapices de colores, el papel, la goma de borrar y el sacapuntas para la clase de Arte.

We also checked the questions on the classroom questionnaire that they had to finish for homework last night.

Practicar las preposiciones

Today we reviewed prepositions of place: a la derecha/ izquierda, adelante/al frente- atras/ detras de, arriba/encima de- abajo/debajo de.

Students drew a classroom based on the description given by teachers. After the activity, students compared their drawing to the others and the teacher's. We checked homework pages 43 & 44.

TAREA/HOMEWORK: Complete questions 16 to 28 on the back of vocabulary sheet.

HOy hace buen tiempo, hace fresco, hace sol y hace viento. La temperatura es aproximadamente 69 grados Farenheit.

Today we introduced expressions to talk about location: a la derecha, a la izquierda, adelante/enfrente de, entre/enmedio de, arriba/encima de, abajo de.

We played hide and seek, students hid an object in the classroom and another one had to find it. Classmate gave hints in Spanish about the location of the object.

Students also worked on pages 41 and 42 in workbook core practice side.

TAREA/HOMEWORK: Pages 43 and 44 in core practice side, students need to do online activities given on same pages. Go to www.realidades.com and use the webcodes given to you.
