Today we played a guessing game with classroom objects vocabulary. Students also described classroom objects drawn yesterday. They had to write sentences describing them and the color they were paying attention to gender and number agreement.

Hoy hace fresco, hace sol y hace buen tiempo. La temperatura es aproximadamente 75 grados Farenheit.

Today we reviewed classroom vocabulary, students took classroom objects from " la bolsa verde " (the green bag) and later we played a game using those objects.

We also checked their wordsearch that was fue today, and we had a dictation of classroom objects in which students needed to draw whatever the teacher was describing (la silla es amarilla - so they drew a yellow chair).

TAREA/HOMEWORK: WRITE A SENTENCE PER OBJECT DESCRIBING IT PAYING ATTENTION TO MAKE GENDER AGREEMENT IN THE COLOR

Hoy hace sol, hace fresco y hace poco viento.

Today we reviewed the vocabulary learned yesterday, students practiced in groups of two the question: Que es? (what is it) and showed a card to their partner, they had to give them the Spanish word. When they had a person they used the question: Quien es?

Students played a game in which one gave the vocabulary word and the other one had to find in the  classroom for what the partner was looking for. To finish, they worked in a word search activity.

Today we finished the letters students started writing last Friday. We also began our chapter on classroom objects.

TAREA/HOMEWORK: Students need to make vocabulary cards of the first 20 words in our list. On one side they need to draw or paste the image of the object, on the other side they have to write the Spanish word. NO ENGLISH ON VOCABULARY CARDS PLEASE.

VOCABULARY QUIZ on classroom objects will be Friday Oct. 28, 2011.

Entrevista

Today we reviewed the vocabulary on classes, sports, food, music and leisure time activities. Students asked each other if they like them or not. Then, they fill out a chart in which they reported the likes and dislikes of the people in the class. They had to interview at least 4 students so they had BINGO>

Los gustos

Today students learned vocabulary related to some sports, food and leisure time activities. They talked about how much they like/dislike them.

We checked the two pages on this topic that is in their packet. Students classified vocabulary in categories and then reported the information to the class.

They also read the paragraph they wrote about their favorite class.

Hoy hace fresco, esta nublado y hace poco viento.

Today we reviewed the names of the classes in Spanish. We also talked about what classes are like using adjectives (bueno, malo, interesante, aburrido, divertido, facil, dificil). Students talked about their favorite class and why they liked it/them.

They also worked on pages 32 and 33 in workbook to have additional practice on describing characteristics of the classes and why they like them.

TAREA/HOMEWORK: Write 3 sentences about their favorite class explaining which one it is, why they like it and who the teacher is.

Today we introduced the vocabulary of the classes. Students asked each other what their favorite class was: Cual es tu clase favorita? Mi clase favorita es ....

They also asked questions about who the teachers in the school are:

• Quien es el Sr. Foti? El Sr. Foti es el profesor de Ciencias Sociales
• Quien es la Dra. Truelove? La Dra. Truelove es la profesora de Ciencias Sociales.

They practiced the vocabulary in writing solving pages 59 and 61 in their workbooks on the guided practice section. The vocabulary in these two pages will be the vocabulary quiz this coming Friday.

TAREA/HOMEWORK: Students need to make vocabulary cards on the classes, one side the picture of the class and the other side the name of the class in Spanish. NO ENGLISH PLEASE. Use power point to make flashcards.Download Las clases y algo mas

El genero y numero

Today we talked about the gender of words, the endings and exceptions to the rule. We also talked about the number and how it is formed in Spanish.

Las presentaciones

Students finished their presentations on Spanish speaking countries and watched a short video on Day of the Dead as an introduction to this holiday that will be studied at the end of this month.

TAREA/HOMEWORK: Bring the packet on gender and number that was given on this past Monday. Make sure you finish all exercises.
