La prueba de Bambi

Hoy es viernes 30 de septiembre de 2011.

Hoy hace sol, hace viento, hace muy buen tiempo.

Today studentshad their quiz on Bambi the movie. They worked in groups to retell in writing the story of Bambi, they also included pictures to their narration.

They also completed a trivia about the origin of the names of some Spanish speaking countries.

TAREA/HOMEWORK: There is none.

Hoy hace sol, hace calor, hace viento. La temperatura es aproximadamente 81 grados Farenheit.

Today we wrote definitions on the movie. Students quizzed each other about the movie using questions from the questionnaire we worked on on Monday.

We checked the capitals and countries of Latinamerica and we studied nationalities of those countries in Spanish.

We reviewed the questions on the movie. Students used verbs: es, son, esta, estan, tiene, tienen, hace, hay to talk about the movie. Then they had to write sentences about the movie using those verbs and given vocabulary.

We reviewed vocabulary from the movie and students worked on questions related to events and characters in the movie. We used this opportunity to work on some question words: donde, como, cuando, por que, de que color, en que estacion, etc.

TAREA/HOMEWORK: Find out the names of three famous Hispanics in American history.

Hoy hace sol, hace viento y hace fresco. Estamos en otono.

Today we finished watching the movie Bambi. Students retold the story using the vocabulary and expressions in their vocabulary worksheets. We talked about the main verbs used to make up sentences in this movie: es/son, hace, tiene/tienen, esta/estan, hay.

Students need to make one index card for each verb and the accompanying words and these can be used in the quiz on Friday.

TAREA/HOMEWORK: Make index cards (except 1st period class)

As part of Hispanic Heritage Month activities, students watched a video on Spain and answered a questionnaire on it.

Today students worked on their maps of Latin America. They had to locate the Spanish speaking countries and their capitals and then color them according to the color code given.

Students also worked on a worksheet on weather and the seasons.

Tener y las expresiones

Hoy hace fresco, hace viento y esta nublado.

Today we reviewed vocabulary of the movie studied on previous days (animals, weather) and introduced some expressions to talk about feelings using verb "tener". We also introduced some conjugations of this verb:

• yo tengo
• tu tienes
• el/ ella/ usted tiene

Expressions: tengo hambre/ sed/ frio/ calor/ miedo/ sueno/ cuidado.

IMPORTANTE: Bring color pencils or crayons to class tomorrow. No markers please.

TAREA/HOMEWORK: Memorize vocabulary of movie. There will be a quiz on this vocabulary on September 30th.

Today we reviewed the vocabulary of the movie Bambi, students explained who the characters are and the type of animals they are.

We also introduced the vocabulary to talk about the weather (hace buen tiempo, hace mal tiempo, hace frio, hace calor, hace fresco, hace sol, hace viento, llueve, nieva, esta nublado).

Today we introduced some of the vocabulary in the movie Bambi and watched part of the movie in which this vocabulary is used.

We also talked about the African country in which Spanish is spoken and students shared their findings on Hispanic scientists and their contribution.
