Las comidas

Hoy es lunes 28 de febrero de 2011.

Hoy esta nublado, llueve y hace mucho viento. La temperatura es aproximadamente 70 grados Farenheit.

Today we reviewed food vocabulary, we talked about what they eat at the different meals and learned about how people in Spanish speaking countries divide their meals and what they eat.

Students answered 9 questions related to their own eating habits. We will check those tomorrow.

IMPORTANT: Students received today their registration forms for high schools. They had the teachers write their placement recommendations for next year.

Hoy es viernes 18 de febrero de 2011.

Today we practiced vocabulary food. We played a guessing game students had to ask to which category the food belonged to, the color, when was it eaten and what was it like.

Also students played hang man and worked on a worksheet.

TAREA/HOMEWORK: THERE IS NONE.

Hoy hace muy buen tiempo. Hace sol y hace fresco.

Today we reviewed food vocabulary and learned how to express likes and dislikes in food: me gustan/me gustan; me encanta/ me encantan.

La piramide alimenticia

Hoy es miercoles 16 de febrero de 2011.

Yesterday students had their test on stem changing verbs.

Today we started our unit on food. We talked about the different food groups in the food pyramid and then, in small groups,  students looked up for food vocabulary to fill in their food pyramid. They were provided newspapers in Spanish of a local supermarket which had pictures and the names of foods. Later we compared their findings.

FELIZ DIA DE SAN VALENTIN!!!

Today we checked homework from the study guide and  review material for the exam on stem changing verbs.

Students also worked in small groups to identify, describe characters in the movie Ratatouille who were bullies, victims and by standers. They described in Spanish situations where this was taking place and did some drawings to express those situations. Tomorrow they will have to present to the class.

TAREA/HOMEWORK: STUDY FOR THE TEST.

Hoy hace sol, hace frio y hace viento. La temperatura es aproximadamente 43 grados Farenheit.

Today we worked on the study guide for the test on stem changing verbs. Students need to work on page #3 of the study guide for homework.

We also made sentences with the vocabulary and expressions of the movie Ratatouille.

Hoy hace mucho frio, hace sol y poco viento.

Today we studied stem changing verbs that change "e" to "ie" and "e" to "i". Students conjugated some verbs in this group and need to study those.

We also finished watching the movie Ratatouille with the classes that did not finish yesterday and review vocabulary.

Hoy hace mucho frio, hace sol y hace viento.

Today we reviewed the vocabulary of the movie. Students completed sentences from the movie using given vocabulary and also gave definitions of things, people in the movie.

We watched the last part of the movie today.

TAREA/HOMEWORK: Study vocabulary of movie and answer questions 1 to 5 in worksheet "Las preguntas".

Hoy esta nublado y hace frio. La temperatura es 53 grados Farenheit.

Today we reviewed irregular verbs from the group that changes "o" to "ue". We also reviewed the first ten definitions of the vocabulary of the movie. Students watched another segment of the movie Ratatouille.

TAREA/HOMEWORK: Finish all definitions and memorize them for tomorrow.

IMPORTANT: FEBRUARY 15 - test on irregular verbs and verbs ending in -er/-ir.

Hoy hace mucho frio, esta lloviendo y esta nublado. La temperatura es aproximadamente 40 grados Farenheit.

We reviewed conjugations of irregular verbs that change"o" for "ue", they have to do a worksheet practice on that for homework.

We watched another part of the movie Ratatouille and students worked on the definitions on the vocabulary of the movie.

They also took their quiz on -er/-ir verbs.

TAREA/HOMEWORK: Worksheet verbs "o" to 'ue" and finish definitions if not finished in class.
